He's 7 year old cocker-spaniel who usually eats alot. Lately he refuses to eat but he still drinks water. He's not as active as he was a week ago and he's throwing up alot. We'v been building on our house for the past month so the dogs aren't free to roam as they please in the day. Also they refuse to mess in the area they're kept in so they keep it in until the builders leave and we let them out. We cant take him to the vet cause he's not a friendly dog and the last time we did he bit my father. Now my father refuses to go to the vet.

Older dogs (any dog over 7 is considered a senior) can have a host of physical problems. Your dog could have an intestinal blockage that won't allow food to go through but will allow water. He could be impacted and need his anal glands expressed. He could be suffering psychologically from the change in his routine from all of the construction. There are so many things it could be and unfortunately, only a vet can tell you what that is :( I konw he is a handful but a muzzle works great in situations like this :) he can't bite anyone and the vet can finally check him out. GOod luck and just watch him closely for any signs of distress indicating an emergency.

I also have a cocker spaniel, and most cocker spaniel is prone to
Immune mediated hemolytic anemia, which can be a deadly desiease if not taken care of quickly. So no matter what take your dog to the vet imediately... so think wheather or not he's going to bite just take him to the vet. What's more important? Getting you dog to the vet on time and possibly saving his life or just sit home and hope for a miracle, which means your dog could possibly die. Hurry and make the right decision!

Ok, this may be a hard one.
Try putting water or a little veggetable broth into your dog's food. If that doesn't entice him to eat. Maybe it's the stress from all the construction. You said that they can't do what they normally do, maybe that's stressing them out too.
Honestly though, the best way to know, especially if it continues is to take the dog to the vet. If anything, muzzle him first, they take him out. The vet will know for sure what's wrong and you don't want to risk your little dog's life by not going...

Your dog needs to go to the vet, and if you cannot or will not take it that is neglict and that is a crime. There is a good chance your dog has any number of problems that can be life threatening, so please get someone or do what you can to get the dog to a vet. They might only be able to put it to sleep but that is better than dying from starvation. You can buy a muzzle but you need to try, there isn't anything us here will be able to help you with.

It doesn't MATTER if your dog is friendly or not, you HAVE to take him to the Vet. Only a Vet can (for the most part) see what's wrong with him. Take him to the vet ASAP, before something worse happens to your dog....

Constipation..
I think I would be biting some ones hands as well, try taking them for more walks and try soft food for one week only or mix it with what they eat now... other than one of the builders or a neighbor.

Ok. This is normal for a senior dog. This just means he is suffering from depression, which is normal for older dogs. I recommend you view webpages about older dogs and problems.
This is exactly what happened to my grandmother's two dogs. Same thing-no eating, throwing up, and unactive. They died in 2005, but they were born in 1994, though.

Try giving him some rice cooked with chicken boullion. It will help settle his stomach. Could just buy a can of chicken rice soup. Hope he gets better soon.

Oh Yeah! In reasoning with answer above, if he gets mean, lock him up and don't use tylenol. It's poison to animals.

Does he have a fever above 103? If not, don't worry. You said he's confined more thatn usual, maybe her's just not using the calories as much and doesn't need as much food. As long as he's drinking, he'll be fine.
