What are you comparing? Jewish Marriage with Roman Marriage? Christianity bases it marriages on Roman Marriage.
Jewish marriage is a contract arranged by the father of the bride and the father of the groom. Women are property first of their fathers and later of their husbands. The two passages you reference deal with property. Property staying in the clan within a tribe. The second deals with an arrangement between a son and his father's sister.
Should you be grossed about arranged marriage where women are property? Only the husband can divorce? This is exactly what the Jews practice today. Because that is the arrangement (613 commandments) Israel made with God in the Old Testament.
Most young American women believe that they are more than property, have rights, etc. However, these rights are fairly new, post WWII. Only a generation ago, did American women demand equal pay for equal work. And if there is anything you should be grossed out about is the failure of the ERA.
Remember you have it better than your mothers, and maybe your daughter will have it better than you.

I see no reason to be "grossed out": this does not pertain to you! It is an administrative matter to preserve the identity of the tribes: for example the tribe of Benjamin had precariously low numbers of members. It is a little like zoo or farm management, where matcs are selected to keep the health of a population of a species. It may seem cold to think of planned and restricted marriages, but arranged marriages have been common in almost every culture throughout history.

We already knew that God supported incest. Who do you thing Adam and Eve's children married? Each other. So basically everyone back then did it. I think you should decide for yourself which one you should be grossed out by. Personally, I am more grossed out that their God commanded them to do it. He didn't just support it, he demanded it in Numbers 36:5-12.

I do not share in the what you are grossed out about. All it says is that the tribes were to stay intact by marring from their own tribe.><>
