if you get a wedding planner, don't do the typical valentine's colors, your guests will be expecting. suprise them and yourself and do some nice winter colors, with your color scheme blended in there somewhere.

i thought of something for your colors. how about a nice icy blue, the kind of blue that is really shimmery and pale in color. and if you wanted to add a touch of feminity, add some lavendar, that would be lovely.

Well I always loved the cinderella theme. Even though you are getting married on valentine's day try like maybe a silver and white. But If red it what you want this is your day no one elses. First as far as planning sit and talk to your soon to be and see what he likes or if he has any input and then go from there. Once you do that if you still need some help the you can always email me @ almenjoy1977@yahoo.com or almenjoy1977@hotmail.com

Hire a wedding planner if you want lots of detail done but you don't have enough experienced friends and relatives to help you out. Purchase a book on Wedding Planning will help you a lot, and read bridal magazines. Lots of tips there.

It's romantic to get married on Valentine's Day, BUT BOOK EARLY! 'cause MANY people want to marry on that day too! Churches, hotel ballrooms everything will be maxed out. Book early for honeymoon vacations too, because other couples (married or not) might want to go on holiday during the V-day period.

Pastel colors rock weddings. Baby blue, lavender, ivory, pink, apple green..but don't pick too many colors, just 1-3 colors to suit your theme.

I think using V-day colors will be a little boring (no offense) Maybe do winter colors instead blue and white or silver maybe (unless you happen to be lucky enough to live where it doesn't get cold orsnow) Chocolate and pin are great together and you would be tying in V-day without the tediousness of the pink, red and white combo. They have some really great chocolate & pink items.

I got married in Feb as well..not on the 14th tho....But i wanted to stay away from the red and pink theme...I wanted to do something different...I choose black and white...I know it may sound odd, but it was beautiful...I wore a white dress and my girls wore black dresses...my husband wore a black pin striped tux and his guys wore black as well...I had black and white flower petals for the flower girl to throw.,.I guess you would have to see it to get the full picture but i would suggest it for anyone!

As far as planning, I didn't have a wedding planner or anything..Me, my mother, and my aunt planned everything...Just go with what you like...As far as ideas for a reception..I think leaving a disposable camera (or 2) at every table is a great idea...this is for the guests to use to snap pics as they want and then they leave them for you to keep...Also..something else that i really liked was taking a clear plastic spoon and putting a Hershey hug and a Hershey kiss in it then covering it with a mesh material using ribbon to tie it off...then attaching a little piece of paper reading "hugs and kisses from the Mr. and Mrs."...That's something that most everyone would enjoy...Hope this helped some...Good Luck!!

Book: Miss Manners on Weddings
--Reading that is a great way to start planning.

By the way, getting married on Valentine's Day is going to mean that your flowers will cost a fortune. Just a heads up, in case you're on a budget.

Red and white accented with silver or gold are beautiful colors for a Valentine's day wedding. I not sure how pink will look with red and white but if you decide to use pink, use a really soft pink.

Red and pink look awful together. If I were you I would choose an elegant deep red wedding dress with a bunch of very simple white flowers tied together with raffia and wear a neat tiara inlaid with red stones. The flower girls would wear pure white with a ring of deep red rose buds on their heads.
