Well God will not torture ANY soul in hellfire that is certain because God is love, and he gives love even to the undeserving. God only hates the sin not the sinner.
Only God himself and the authority he gave to Jesus can forgive sins commited as we humans can not know the heart condition of another person and their individual state of mind. But should a person feel that life is so unbearable should seek help should they contemplate suicide.
Drawing close to God as I my self discovered and gaining accurate knowledge of his purposes to deal ultimately with the pain, suffering and wickedness that fills the earth today is very good for not only your spiritual welfare but also your mental welfare state of mind.
To seek out how God who will soon draw and end to the unrighteous and sick pain inflicted on humans especially to even you is very refreshing to the soul, you can see a way out to how you are feeling now a lot more, and have a real future you can look forward to. Since I took up a bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses my eyes have been opened to Bible truths that have been shut away because for years I listened to false unscriptural teachings. Suicide is a terrible thing as life is precious even though the world today we live in, life almost appears cheap, but to God the orginator of all living things to him life is very sacred in the strongest sense. The world is a terrible place with new horrors unfurling every day 2 Timothy 3:1 says the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here - like it is right now!. It is unsuprising that some people do feel suicidal in this terrible world but leaning on God and not your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5) and your Creator can guide you through the turmoil and give you real hope to a true happiness and give you strength to endure so that very soon you can be part of a new earth of righteousness and enjoy peace and forever life that God as planned and always intended for mankind on Earth and pain and suffering and sickness will be no more Revelation 21:4; 2 Peter 3:13. You will never look back.

I think it depends what you believe on, but, I do not think that people that take suicide as a solution to all their troubles have any other solution. In other words I do not believe that suicide is an option, It only makes things worse, like for example your loved ones suffer. I also believe that indeed, as believed in many religions, when somebody commits suicide, their soul will never rest on peace. I believe that mainly because, that particular person was meant to do something else, but instead he/she went on an opposite direction and failed. Yes failed. Failed to accomplish anything and everything that was meant to be done by him or her in this life.
On the other hand I also believe that people who commit suicide, when they are about to do it, I think that their mind is just focused into something. That particular something being, taking their life away and moving on to an unknown world. So no. I do not think that people implore any kind of forgiveness before ending their lives. Or that people repent before killing themselves, I believe that it is just the only solution possible and they try to do god's job.

That is a tough one but if one truely repents, then that means they are 1: asking forgiveness for sins 2: asking God for help to refrain from commiting the sins again 3: striving not to commit the sins again. Now looking at that, It would be impossible to repent BEFORE commiting suicide because you are asking for forgivness on something you know you are going to do anyways. Therefore you're leaving out theoretical steps 2 & 3.
I do think it is possible that someone commits suicide THEN asks for forgiveness while they are dying. But if you are planning on doing this before the act, then youre actually cheating and kind of lying to God by trying to hide the premeditated cover-up.
I dont know if you are thinking about this for yourself or if you are wondering about a loved one that has commited suicide and youre hoping they didnt go to hell because of it but I can tell you, YES I do think others in the past have done that.
I received my friends suicide letter in the mail. By the time I got it he had already killed himself. But I think he tried to do what you are saying because he wrote that all he has been doing lately is praying and thinking. So I have thought the same things you are wondering now. But we never really know what happens to them, at least not while we are still alive. I wish there were some way I could just talk to him, hoping ghosts are real and he would talk to me and let me know that he is in heaven. He died on 11 June 2006 and I havent stopped thinking and worrying about him since.
talk to me on yahoo messenger if you want and we could discuss it. unlike some people im not going to tell you here, dont commit suicude, its wrong, you'll go to hell blah blah blah. not that I dont care but I dont think that is the answer your looking for. But know this, whether youre talking about a friend that commited suicide or you are thinking about it yourself, either way, I know how you feel and my yahoo messenger name is BetheniaJane25

the worse case scenario to this question is that you are actually considering suicide. best case you are asking this question for a term paper or something. whatever the case it is a very serious question. i choose to treat this question as if you were considering this as an option personally....
there have been many answers to your question so far. some suggest that God would forgive, and others suggests differently. my suggestion is this : do not take the chance!! You obviously believe that there might be eternal consequences to one who commits suicide. if not you would not have asked the question.
ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES!
whether you believe it or not every choice you make might just have eternal consequences.
Our life, my friend is bigger than just you and me. Regardless of our situation. God is the giver of Life. Without him none of us would exist. so there is a reason why we are here. I hope you find that purpose. i hope i find out what God's purpose is.....

I hope this is just a hypothetical question and you are not considering suicide.
I used to believe that all suicide victims went straight to hell because they had the sin of murder on them when they went into eternity. Now I'm not so sure. But, I certainly wouldn't want someone to do it just to find out.

You can't ask for forgiveness of a sin before you commit it...that's like saying, Father forgive me for doing this hit of acid...and then do it anyway...you have to commit the sin before you can ask forgiveness for it...If you commit suicide you don't have that chance to ask for forgiveness. I believe if someone does something like that God knows they have a mental problem...He would rather someone get help while they are living.

I find this rather interesting. why? You know what? Contrary to popular belief, you don't just up and decide on your own, when you want to be saved. did you know that? Very few people do. Salvation is not like planning a vacation. You don't name the time and place.
The spirit draws you nigh.
I would tell such a person, they better know the scripture really really well, before they trace off in something they know very little about.
BTW: Let me assure you of one very important thing in life. THERE .IS .NO .UNFORGIVABLE .SIN. Period. hear me? There is none. cut and dried. It's that simple.
It's late tonight and I'm tired, I'm not going to write a 1000 word explanation on unforgivable sin. I'll simply prove it with your own Bible, not mine.
Anyway, ask this question on unforgivable sin some other time. I'll explain in detail with no questions left to be asked. OK?
Good Q*.

Repent means you already did it and will not do it again.
What your asking G_D for is permission to do a crime.
Jails are for people who plan a crime in advance.
Let G_d deal with your pain instead of you, this is easier said than done.
Suicide is not a heaven or hell question.
Take your pain to a professional or a Pastor first.
G_D allows people to leave when He is finished using them, he isn't finished with you yet,. You post a good question, keep it up , others can get insight from what you write.

Suicide is a very Big sin. Your body is the temple of the Lord and thus isn't completely yours. I believe that the only way that you WON'T go to Hell is if there is no other option or no hope in your heart.
Pleasse do not test my theory but call a pentecostal church and have them pray for/with you.

There are no gate crashers in the spiritual world !!
If you are contemplating self murder, the position you will place yourself in will be more hellish then the one that drove you to the act in the first place.
To find the unlimited happiness that is your constitutional birthright in the human form of life, you must revive the original spiritual consciousness that is now temporarily covered by a gross and subtle material body.
If you destroy the gross body constituted of molecules and atoms, it will place you in an un-natural position with your astral body locked in the material realm for further rectification.
You cannot bluff the Supreme authority with a psychological device to justify your intention to perform a sinfull act.
There is higher pleasure within you, do not doubt it for a moment, if you wish to discuss this further:-Sriman Sankarshan Das Adhikari (sda@backtohome.com)
