I agree on a personal level. I don't know if our planet can sustain all of the people who would become inhabitants. We are doing a poor job of keeping our current population alive in most countries where disease is rampant and life is marked by suffering and then death.
We would really have to evaluate whether we can live better with each other and make the quality of life better throughout the world.
Then we can progress to discuss immortality.

I honestly think that there should not be a cure for death. Among the natural order of things, everyone would keep having children and keep having children..and then live forever..and everyone would live forever. Which would create a great overpopulation, and also would cause famine and everyone to starve.
Death is natural. Let it happen. Its a bad Idea to create a cure for "death" because everyone dies. Animals die, people die, everything dies eventually.

However much I like the idea of your theory about 'by the time we find a cure for death enough people will have died,' it's sadly incredibly wrong. Our population is increasing with time, rather than decreasing.
And it's not quite "let's agree to find a cure for death." By your question, you seem about 8.

If we all live forever - or even if some of us do - where will we put everyone? Some countries are already overcrowded and are lacking resources to keep people alive now. What should they do - stop reproducing and let the old people live there forever?
No. . .death is a natural part of life. Sad, and heartbreaking, but a reality.

When was the last time you saw what a 100 year old man looked like. Do you really want to turn 200? If you find a cure for death, I hope my insurance doesnt cover that med.

I suppose the system which is going on of life and death is correct because we find everything very interesting in such a short span of life so I don't think that cure for death is necessary. Think about the population growth too.

By the wrinkled sac of Xenu, no! The planet's badly enough overpopulated as it is, without people being immortal. No more inheritances, old Granny turning up every Christmas *forever* and smelling of urine and cabbage, no, it would be a disaster. However sad and tragic death appears in each individual case, as a species it's the only thing keeping us going.
Plus, immortal life isn't all it's cracked up to be. I mean, imagine the boredom!

If we did live forever, why procreate? We would take away so many natural things. All things have an opposite, Life/ Death, White/ Black, Good/ Evil, Woman/ Man and so on,,,,,so I want to stick with the traditions,, yup death for me....

Well sure it would be nice for you, but lets think about something else. Humanity as a whole. If no one could die the world would become vasly overpopulated. There would be 100s of billions of people. That=more pollution, globabl warming would come faster and then kill off people faster.. oh wait we cant die. We would live in a world of unimaginable things. You would wish to die but you couldnt.
so no.

No, not at all. Death is apart of all life and think of what problems we'd have if we could live forever; overpopluation and riots to name a few. Besides, you'd become bored fast I'm sure if you lived forever.
