I'm a freshman in college, and lately I've been trying to meet people. I met a few girls at a dining hall a few days ago, and I went to a dorm room where one of them lived. I met her roommate, who said hi and smiled, and I spent a short time in the room before going back to my dorm. All of the girls seemed nice, but I was only attracted to the roommate. Today, I IMed the roommate and suggested that we hang out, which is exactly what she seemed to want as well. She gave me her # without me asking and said I should call her sometime. So, what would be the appropriate thing to do with her in this situation, besides going to a dining hall or restaurant?

man you can have her ur gf in begning .talk to her, make her laugh, hold her hands , kiss her, hug her, make all the moves u can have outside the bed.keep her happy.try not to play with her feelings
if agreed by both of u , you can make her partner on bed also. and
if considered proper, both of u can turn out to be life partners too

Well you could always go lock yourself in your dorm room or a bathroom stall, and indulge yourself in sexy, erotic, fantasies about her until you pass out from exhaustion.
OR
You could just hit it and quit it...
OR
Or you could ask her to go hang out with you at a ball game, or go bowling or shoot some pool or a play game of chess or anything that you both have an interest in and get to know her. There are many intersting things you can do while hanging out together that don't cost a lot. Just because you don't date, doesn't mean you can't hang out.

There are so many free things that you can do on campus. Look it up in your school newspaper. When I went to college I had an 8 yr. old child and was broke. We did all the free stuff. Plays, concerts, swimming, movies, etc.

firstly you should call her! just suggest something casual, like going out for coffee. stuff like that. somewhere you can sit or walk and talk. live near the beach? go for a walk there and get ice cream. sounds corny, but its cool. go for a walk in a park. you could always do the movie thing, but make time to hang out before or after so you have a chance to talk. goodluck dude!

Finding some activities you both like to do and doing it together is a good way to start.

wow you really haven't dated much have you? go ice skating, ice blocking, go to a goodwill and buy each other some ghetto clothes and go have a picnic in the median. Be creative!
