By numbers? PTL club on both counts as givers and receivers of prosti- er persecution. Hindus and Zoroastrians have taken lots of grief from Muslims and from the English. Catholics have done more than they've been done unto. Back in the day, the Mormons got so much trouble, they had to find their own state, but I guess the Jews did the same. Oh, but we're excluding them from the contest. What is this, a 1950's country club?

This is an interesting thought provoking question. As I sit here trying to research for the answer, it comes to me that in all countries there is some religion group or a group of people that are persecuted by another. For it seems that humans no matter where they are must look down on someone else to make them feel better about themselves. If they hate the other group more then the more radical will find good reasons to fight and kill them. Throughout history and even today ... religious groups or political parties are killing those who are not of the same beliefs. It just seems that humans all need someone to pick on in one form or another. From the bully at school, to the killing of Christians in Sudan and African countries, to Jews being persecuted by Arabs, and Arabs being persecuted by Jews. to Americans being persecuted by Muslim Radicals to Muslims Killing Christian in Indonesia. In Europe the Serbians killing and persecuting the Muslims ... on and on. It is not the question of who is hated the most but who is not being persecuted .... the Christian Religion is far from being emuned as all free religions judge and persecute other religions. God Bless us all as he will have his hands full sooner or later.

As you said, the Jews obviously. At this point in time, I would say the Muslims. People have stood up and basically said they hate all Muslims no matter what. Although it is only a few of them who behave hatefully towards others.
EDIT:
Atheists also get a lot of hatred. It seems like everyone loves telling us how wrong we are, as proven by lightangellion down below
oh i just noticed your last question. i think christians do the most persecuting. at least shown by this forum...every day there are many pointless questions insulting atheists, muslims, etc. i know that not all christians are like that, but it seems that there are many who frequent this forum.

Present-day? Christians by Muslims. Muslims by Christians. Seems to be pretty even, but Muslims in most countries are more a part of government and have the power to persecute. If Christians had their theocracies back it would just as bad. Thank G-d for separation of church and state.
As far as buzzbait goes, she's got that zealous crazy avatar so I know where she stands.

It depends on the time period. Back during the inquisition, and the Dark times all the way up to the 1800's, it was the Pagans. Scientologists catch alot of flack these days, as well as Mormons and alot of the Middle Eastern Religions ( I know the names, I just can't think of them right now... pulling a major blank on that, but we know who I'm talking about.
When it comes to who does the most persecuting, it would be the Christians and Catholics, handsdown. I'm not saying all of them do it, I'm saying when it comes to their leaders.

Christians are the most persecuted friend. Look at the early days of Rome when thousands of Christians were tortured, burned alive and fed to wild beasts at the colluseum of Rome which is still standing today.
Then the dark ages came about, the Roman Church claimed all people who didn't follow the traditions of the church heretics, over 50 million Christians were killed between 538 and 1798. Millions of other non-christian heretics were also killed.
In the middle-east, thousands of Christians were killed by Islam, people, women, children even babies skinned alive.
Soon enough a time of trouble will come to this earth never before seen, and millions of Christians will again be persecuted for their beliefs.

the JW's because of their neutral stand regarding politics.. During the holocaust, there are only 2 religious organization, Hitler really hated, they are the JEWS and the Jehovah's Witnesses (fact is he even assigned a special badge for them - the violet triangle).. by the way im Catholic, just stating facts i read in my history books :) with regards to persecutions, i daresay from time immemorial people have been killing each other because of religion so i guess its really not correct for me to name any religion who is the most guilty and the most hated..

I know quite a bit about some of the religions which you have mentioned. But in my personal opinion, Christianity is the only "religion" that is truly pleasing unto God; for it is based totally upon the Son of God, Jesus Christ. And I believe that the only way that a person can truly know God is through his Son Jesus Christ. Jesus told us in John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes unto the Father but by me." And when a person is truly a Christian, the devil will do everything within his power, to bring persecution against them. And Jesus warned us that we would face persecution while on this earth. But the devil will never attempt to persecute a person who is not in right relationship with God. For that is just where he wants them to be, and to stay. Hope I have helped you maybe a little bit.

The Jews are the most persecuted. Hands down, proven by history.
Catholics have done their share of persecuting, as have Muslims.

it depends on what part of the world you are talking about....for example, Muslims are more persecuted in the west, but in Muslim countries other religions are persecuted.
While not a religion, i would say that the atheists and other nonbelievers get hated on a fair deal as well.
