This doesn't happen to me very often. In fact, I can't even remember the last time it happened. But if people do it to you, how do you react? Do you correct other people's grammar? Is it rude to do so?

Believe it or not, I know how to spell irritated. I just got typing fast, and it was a typo. But, I'm glad you all are paying attention. Peace.

Yes, I think it is rude, because it means that the person isn't really focusing on the content of what you are saying, just paying attention to the grammar. This doesn't happen to me very often, but I can imagine that people who correct others' grammar all the time are not loved for it.

I don't think anyone's ever corrected me. Or, if they did, they probably didn't live long enough to tell anyone about it.
I've got a Master's Degree in English, and I don't correct people's grammar because I think it's rude. As long as I can understand what the person is saying, that's all that matters.

Yes!!! Usually I do just let it slide but if it continues I ask them not to do that. I worked in a call center once and usually people from the Northeast would try and correct my grammar, only to find out that the grammar wasn't incorrect, they were just talking to a Southern girl who couldn't pronounce words like they do!

I think it is rediculous, people expect the perfect brainwashed citizen, its the same reason why this world has 100's of 1000's of people in jail, because they dont know how else to deal with societies problems... a crying shame that money and brain washed education is more important than humanity

If it happens too often in the same conversation, yes, but I´m always willing to take any advice for my own good, I know I can make mistakes some times.

Not really, i appreciate it, because so that, i know my weakness, i will improve more, thus, i learn from my mistakes. Don't feel bad about it, they just want to help you. think about it, why they want to put all the trouble to correct someone, and ppl does not pay them, even criticize them. If other ppl try to make fun of you, that's a different story.

I can't help correcting peoples grammer, I have nearly done it to people I don't know, just sitting on the bus,
I generally wait until they have finished their sentence, I just feel I would prefer to be corrected so I didn't look stupid If I said it again

I correct people all the time. I can't stand when people pronounce things wrong. Especially my kids. If I don't tell them they are saying it wrong, they will go out into the world and sound like a moron!

actually yea it happens to me a lot. But what I do just to be silly, is purposely annoy the other person with the same mistakes. lol. I know they try to help, but sorry if I mispronounce words. It's just my nature. It's like making a gringo pronounce the "r" in spanish.

Yes, it's rude when someone does that. My reaction is to say, "You are so brilliant. I wish I was as smart as you." Then I continue my conversatoin. The compliment makes others see what at know-it-all the person is, and how the interrupter is rude.
