They are two very different cars. One is a full size sedan and the other is more of a midsize hatchback. Either one would be a good car. They are each reliable, well built, high quality cars. I pesonally would Choose the Ford. It will be roomier inside and since its a full size car I can only assume the trunk space would be comparable to the Maxx's cargo area. One down size to the Ford is its a little underpowered. If overall interior room isnt an issue then the Maxx may get better fuel mileage due to its smaller size. I find it interesting how people answer questions like this by just stating their opinions about styling. LIke there tastes in styling determine whether a car is good or not.

Both are ok cars, but neither are really class-leading. The five hundred is bland and forgettable. The malibu is way ugly. The Ford should be dependable, but I would expect poor resale value due to rental fleet sales. Given just those two choices, I would choose the Ford.

The Ford 500 is much safer.. and better with gas ( also depends on the driver) but hands down with the Ford..
