She Isn't anything special, She was just human, Yes she did give birth to Jesus Christ, But she was still a human? They pray to Mary more than they pray to God, and God himself said that we can't worship any other God

She is very special to God, and so we honor her because Jesus honors His mother perfectly.

Jesus is our Lord and Savior, but Jesus is also our brother. And since Mary is His mother, she is our mother, too.

God is God of the living, not a god of the dead. It says in the bible that death does not come to those who die in Christ and that we should pray for each other. In the bible (Catholic or Protestant bible), great powers were given to the saints through the graces given to them by God.

In heaven, the saints are more alive than we are here in this world because they are with God. So God gives graces to the saints to hear our prayers so that we can do what God commanded of us and that is to love our brother or sister. So we ask Mary, our mother, to pray for us to the Lord.

Very good point. Catholics will say they don't pray to her or worship but they don't know the Cathecism and they won't quote the Rosary - which is obviously worship.

Mary herself said she was a sinner in need of a Savior. In the Bible she was "blessed" by someone and Mary responded not to do this, that they person needs to do the will of the Father.

No doubt, Mary is in Heaven and found favor with God. No doubt, she is sad about the false worship Catholics give to her.

I have no idea why people would pray to Mary.

I don't even know where the idea came from. Jesus prayed to God the Father, in the great intercessory prayer in the NT.

Where did people get the idea they should pray to Mary, anyway?

It's just all wrong!

You look as in case you fairly need to appreciate -because of the fact of this i'm answering. by using the recent testomony each time Mary asked some thing of her son Jesus He complied along with her request.we are to persist with His occasion in all issues.Mary keeps to intercede for us to her son. think of approximately this-in case you love and admire your mom and understand she might ask of you purely that which might earnings you or others you will possibly do it top? enable us to bear in ideas additionally that Mary urged us to do all that her son instructs us to do. Mary isn't worshiped-she is commemorated for the area that GOD graced her with. Statues are purely representations of saints and others to call to ideas the examples they have offered for us.very equivalent to a image can call to ideas a pal or a 2nd in time. If one prays at a statue that's because of the fact they're honoring the memory of that individual-no longer the statue. have you ever visited the grave of a pal and whispered some words to them? if so-you at the instant are not chatting with their corpse, their headstone,or something unlivimg-you're hoping by some ability that the spirit of that individual can hear you. I know. They think that she is a queen in heaven, because they think that she is still a virgin after she had Jesus, even though she was still married to Joseph, and they had other children. Who in the world holds the vessel higher than what it contains? Oh, that's right, the Roman Catholics.

Same with Jesus. I think the idea here is that she is close to Jesus whom sits at the right hand of God and maybe she can pass a note down the line to God.

The thing is, she is special. She is the only human without sin.

Catholics do pray to her, but do not worship her.
A key distinction.

Think of it this way. Instead of asking Jesus directly, Catholics are asking the person whose opinion he values above all others.

It's actually a very complicated answer going back all the way to ancient Mesopotamia and the worship of Nimrod's mother and his reincarnation. From there, it evolved into goddess worship, Isis and others. The paganism grew throughout the cultures of Europe and the middle east. When the Romans came to power, they were very accepting of any and all gods and goddesses. But under the emperor Constantine, an effort was made under the Pax Romana to create a single religion that was born out of the early Christian church. With this, in order to keep the peace, it was allowed for the pagans to keep their gods and goddesses under the auspices of saying, "We have mother worship too, just Christianize it with Mary" or "We have a god for such and so too, we just call him a saint." And that's the very thin version of how it evolved. It's actually a little more complicated than that, but that's it in a nutshell.

To people who say they don't pray to her, as a former Catholic, let me quote: (Not stating this personally, just rebuffing arguments that they don't worship or pray to her...)

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished
children of Eve, to thee do we send
up our sighs, mourning and weeping
in this valley, of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us; and
after this our exile show unto us the
blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God

That we may be made worthy of the
promises of Christ.

Also: The Rosary. Do you ever consider what you say or do you just repeat the words you were taught without considering them?

worship and praying is not the same thing. can you give birth to god son and stay virgin? Mary is a messenger that carries your wishes to god. She is here to help you. I don't know for you, but in general when you need to say something to your dad and if he is severe, don't you talk to mum first? it's the same

I have a feeling you are talking about Catholics...
THAT IS A COMMON MISCONCEPTION!!!

We do not pray to her. We hold her in high respects.
She was the one CHOSEN to birth Jesus, and she did not have original sin.
She is a very important woman.
But MOST IMPORTANTLY...
WE DON'T WORSHIP HER!!!!
