because I can't point my finger at someone and blame him for his persecuting me? Because the media tells you so? What's your evidence that I am mentally ill? I am NOT mentally ill, just because there are "voices" that PERSECUTE me. Do you get it?

yeah right, it's all imagination or my transmitters...you don't have that much "imagination" to imagine that everybody's transmitters would go crazy in such a situation, do you? or is your brain activity the same when you run and when you watch TV?

What society does not understand is that there are other worlds that are interrelated with each other and there are living beings in these worlds. Our society teaches us that if we cannot see something then it isn't so. I, too , at a certain period of my life have heard voices that not only persecuted me but the beings also attacked me and drove me into a hospital for 5 days. In order to keep my sanity they gave me several heavy sedatives. I knew that no one would believe me if I tried to tell them about the voices that I was hearing. But after five days, I got my sanity back and got out of the hospital. They gave me some mental illness labels but you don't have to believe them. No I don't believe you are 'mentally ill' any more then I was. But just try to understand that the people who try to help you or criticise you just don't understand what is really going on. Try to forgive them because they really don't know any better.

People who struggle with schizophrenia have *imagined* hallucinations. Imagined is the key word. They believe that people are after them, hear critical voices etc., but in reality, there is nobody. You seem to be expressing positive symptoms of schizophrenia. There are also negative symptoms, such as flat affect, or basically having no emotion. That is also abnormal, because human beings are supposed to be expressive. There are many forms of schizophrenia, and all of them interfere with the ability to lead a normal life. With medication, there is hope. Schizophrenia is caused by brain abnormalities, such as an excess of dopamine, a neurotransmitter.

No, I'm sorry, I don't understand.

If you are saying that you are happy with your current condition, I guess that's all right, but I have never heard of a schizophrenic who was happy about it.

If you are questioning the definition of how a mental condition is considered normal or abnormal, I think I might understand why. But I still think that hearing voices who are constantly persecuting you (your word) it seems that it couldn't be making your life better.

The reason they list schizophrenia is listed as a mental illness, is the same reason as depression, chronic anxiety, bipolar disorder, multiple personality, etc as mental illnesses. Generally, every disease that effects the brain and the way it functions (not including tumours, stroke etc). I look at mental illness this way, if you cannot see it, if you cannot put your finger on it and say "there it is!! I can see it!", then it's a mental disorder. IF it has to do with your thought processes, your way of thinking, etc. then it is a mind illness aka as mental disease. Don't feel bad about having one, I do to, but with medication, it's manageable. Good Luck

It is a mental illness but not to the person who has it. My mother has it and she never knew anything was wrong with her. She would yell and scream at the voices..I didn't understand it then but I do now..The voices are very real to you but only you can hear them
