Because people are not perfect..they make mistakes...or speak without thinking first...or they're not as bright as you so for them the question that you think is stupid...is important for them.
And in rare occasions its because they're just plain stupid!!
Othertimes its because they're playing with your mind or they're seeking attention from you or people around you.
