No, the medications are not curing the disease, but rather the medications help decrease the symptoms related to the disease.

There is no cure for AIDS. There is, however, a medication 'cocktail' that has been found to stop the progression of HIV to AIDS. Many infected patient with HIV who are on this protocal have tested with results showing a 0 t-cell count, which are in a nut shell, the aids cells. It isnt a cure, but it is a preventative and hopefully will continue to work for more and more patients who are still healthy enough to go on it. The disease is still there, you arent cured, but you still have a chance at a long and healthy life because it stops the degeneration HIV causes.

As of now, third phase clinical trials are going for Aids patient. Here they have used a conotoxin substance , a substance obtained from sea snail which is deadlier than viper snake sting.
Medications are available to increase the T cell count only and to extend the life span ... till date there is no medicine for AIDS as the virus keeps changing its antigenic structure.
Don't ever believe in news paper articles..
U can better go to WHO website or centre for disease control website by altavista or google search engine.. There u select AIDS and you will know the medicines that are under trials...

NO, there is no cure for AIDS. The medicines that say so are fake. HIV (the cause for AIDS) is a virus. No medicine which can kill HIV has been discovered till date. The medicines for AIDS only cure the diseases caused by AIDS. AIDS itself does no harm the body but it breaks down the immune system, making the body more vulnerable to diseases. So a person doesn't die of AIDS but dies because of one of the diseases caused by AIDS.

I think they may have found a "preventative medicine". Like a vaccine. Just like they have a vaccine for whooping cough, or the measles. It won't cure the disease for those who already have it, but if you get the vaccine, it may prevent people from getting it!
I'm expecting a cure within the next 5 or 6 years!

Not curing the disease, just controlling it. I did read, however, that they may be close to finding a vaccine to protect people who don't have HIV from getting it.

Proper nutrition and diet is the best thing for HIV.
Read what a UN official says about glyconutrients on my page.
