before you plug you ipod into the your computer go to your music library and take off the blue checks next to the songs you don't want on your shuffle. also it is good to put you shuffle on auto update
For Microsoft go to settings, then to ipod and then it will say auto upload when you plug this ipod into this computer.
For apple go to preferences and do the same

Well i dont have an ipod shuffle but i've got an ipod. I think you have to go into itunes on your computer. Into your library and right click the songs you dont want on there and then click on either delete or clear... I think it will say clear.
