plug it into your usb port on your computer, or go out and but a usb 2.0 cable (if you computer doesn't accept your shuffle as is). Make sure you download itunes version 6, when you get your shuffle in go to settings and make sure you put your shuffle on auto upload Libary, then make sure you eject your shuffle after it finish uploading the songs onto it, if you don't eject it you messed it up and have to reset it. also Make sure your ipod is off when you upload and /or charge it this way it charges faster.
