Love is when the police show up to resolve a domestic dispute on the TV show COPS and when they are about to take the guy away in cuffs, the wife comes running out of the house with matted hair, a long t-shirt with no bra, flip flops and a cigarette yelling, "Please don't arrest him! I LOOOOOVE HIM!"
Lust is the result of the fight that broke out right after she refused to have sex with him.

Lust is a physical infatuation and attraction to another person. Love is this, but much more. It is a genuine appreciation of who another person is, faults and all. True love, often, seems to be in short supply as evidenced by the high divorce rate (at least here in the U.S.). I think people just generally confuse lust for love. Others, maybe, just settle for someone they are attracted to because they are afraid of being alone for the rest of their lives. This fear is daunting, but often unfounded. My parents got hitched and started a family late in their lives (they were in their mid - '40's when I was born). They had time to experience life as singles, and enjoyed it without the weight of children or a marriage hanging around their necks. The best thing a person can do (in my mind) is to spend time figuring out who they are BEFORE they think about marriage. Realize your career aspirations, or find out your niche in the world. These aren't easy tasks, but once you have a better understanding of who you are, you will get a better idea of what you want in a long-time mate. Good luck!

Lust is about instant, personal gratification. If your partner is satisfied good, if not, good as well.
Love is about satisfing your loved one. Your partner gratification is what's more important. You don't feel like you have to perform to certain level, or to be accepted, or pressured.
It's easy to confuse love with lust because lust can be a very intense feeling. It's easy to think that because you like having sex with someone, and want to do it often, you care more for her.
I think that comparing lust vs love is not a black and white thing, but treading on some gray areas.

Lust usually has to do with the sexual desire and lure that hopefully exists between two people. Love is the non linear state of the heart where you always feel an afterglow with someone else. Love is undivided and spaceless.

Love is a feelin u have for someone no matter what they do, or say, and it's deep and real, and bonds two people together
Lust is all about sex, wantin to sleep with someone and meet a physical need.
people confuse the two, because most don't know the difference they get excited and think "oh, I love this person" but after they have sex it fades...then u know what it really was

Lust is simple. It is a physical/chemical/sexual response to another person. Love only arises out of respect.
