No, she was 6 when they got married, but then she got really sick and her hair fell out. She eventually got better and he "consumated" her when she was 9. It's a good thing the 50 + year old man waited until she got her 1st period, otherwise some people might consider him to be a dirty old man a.k.a a child molester.

No, she was fifteen or sixteen when they consummated the marriage. Abu Bakr, her father, was Muhammad best friend and he ask Muhammad to take his daughter's hand in marriage. She lived at home and moved out and consummated the marriage at age 15-16.
