Why? Im 17 years old, And I've been trying my hardest to stay right with God, Yet when i returned to school, My friends ignore me because they heard i recently got baptised. They hate the fact that i get religious at time. When i talk to someone about God, They get angry, but more than usual. They curse at my God, Why? I guess they just don't want to listen, They just don't want to live the way that God wants them to live, I guess that one of the many reason why people deny the existence of God. I can't blame them, I was once an Atheist, I don't really know how i became Christian, It just happened. People think churches just want to steal your money, I don't know what to do, Well i don't really care how the feel, if they believe in God or not, It's all through faith i guess, what i have. I just feel God in my heart, It's unexplainable, I just hope that God gives me friends my age that share the same love for God as do? why? I really care for those people, At least i still have 1 friend

You have chosen the correct path. It was very pleasant to see a person with such thoughts and deeds. I pray that you will continue your great relationship with God forever.

However please pray for all who injure you, insult you and all who do not believe in God. That's the best way to get their minds changed.

You know, "Nothing is impossible for God". However God has a reason and a season for everything.

No matter what unbelievers or atheists say, please keep you faith. People like you are very rare.

God Bless!

with Love in Christ,
Sapnat

Its clear that you are unable or unwilling to put yourself in their shoes and see yourself through their eyes.

Its not that they "don't want to live the way that God wants them to live." Its that they believe that your God is a myth, and that while there is some wisdom in the Bible, there is also a lot of crazy talk. Can you really read Leviticus and not shudder at how twisted and immoral it is?

If you "don't know how you became Christian", and you just "feel God is you your heart", then you're saying that your feelings trump there reasoning. Other Christians will reassure you that you really are feeling God's presence and so your feelings are special gifts. But feelings are just feelings. There are people with mental disorders who have very strong feelings that most of us recognize as psychosis. If you are extreme enough in your preaching, people might just conclude that you are deranged, and say anything to you that will get you to leave them alone.

I personally have felt this way around rabid Christians. But even though I am an atheist, I know Christians that I like and admire that I enjoy hanging out with. It's because they respect others wishes and don't preach if we don't want to be preached to.

I don't know that people hate Christians. But sometimes maybe it is that they get annoyed by pushy , hypocritical or judging Christians. You don't have to get "religious at times". You should be Christian all the time. It is who you are through and through. Religion is something you can take off and put on. Just be true to the Word and who you understand Christ to be. Your love of Him will shine through. You don't have to preach about Him or anything like that. Just share the blessings that you recieve or the things that you learn, etc. The Lord should be a part of your life that you talk and share about just as naturally as you talk about, say school or friends or something like that. Surround yourself with Christian friends. Find a good youth group. Ya'll can lift up and encourage and pray for each other. The hardest thing to realize is that you are more likely to be pulled down than to pull others up to you. Especially as a Baby Christian. So don't try to pull. Just be natural and let the Spirit flow out of your soul.

People says they hate Christians because they see in them what they have not yet attained. As long as a person is part of the world they cannot stand to be in the presence of Christ.

They are living in their sins and are comfortable there.

God tell us to separate ourselves from the evil of the world and seek Him. Jesus Christ was hated by most of the people He came in contact with. He even told us that if we accept Him as Saviour, we too will be hated.

I lost all my friends when they found out that I believe and love the Lord. I found treasure galore a little farther down the road.

You have been given a gift. A special gift. You can't know how it is or why, but its the most precious thing you will ever posses. The gift of life eternal. Now just serve God. He will light up the paths He wishes you to travel.><>

The Bible says that people hate the truth because it exposes them. This should be reassuring that you are doing the right thing. If we lived our lives based on what people desired, we would all be pretty far from God. It may be time to get a new group of friends. As difficult as it was, I had to do this when I converted. Today I am a Pastor. This is not to abandon your friends. But when they want to talk about God, they'll know who to turn to. God Bless

G. high school is a pre view of the adult world. those people will still more than likely be that way, so count your blessings they are out of your life for now.
I don't worry about what others say. follow your heart and your relationship with GOD. I commend a 17 yr old of that type of character to stand UP FOR GOD.
Don't let those others try to pull you down!

Jesus said at Matthew 10:22 "22 And YOU will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved." True Christians should expect to have trials in this system of things. Don't forget that "We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." (1 John 5:19)

We live in a world blinded by Satan to the reality of God. He is a loving Father who wants what's best for us. Satan tries to make him look wicked by promoting things like the hellfire doctrine. He also tries to make God confusing with the Trinity doctrine. He turns people away from religion by using false religions to perpetrate horrendous crimes in 'God's name'. It's no wonder people are fed up with religion. He also tries to make God look restrictive when he really only wants what's best for us.

Don't give up your faith. I went through exactly the same thing. You'll find a few years after you graduate that those who mocked your beliefs have little direction in life and have yet to find the inner peace that comes from a deep-rooted faith.

If you're looking for friends who wil help you keep your faith, seek out Jehovah's Witnesses in your area. There may even be some in your school. They have the same challenges you're experiencing and you'll find them willing to listen.

i think people should believe whatever they feel in their hearts. no matter what the choice is. i think the reason why christians get so much negative attention is because they are always trying to cram their religion and beliefs down our throats. i am an athiest. i have never felt "god" in my heart. im not ashamed of this. i dont like being looked down on because of my beliefs. i think that your friends might be more receptive if they didnt feel like they were being converted or something.

All I can tell you is that Jesus himself predicted that some people would hate you if you followed Jesus.

Jesus also promised that he knows what you have given up to follow him, and that you would be paid back by God himself one day.

Hang in there. And don't take it personally if they get angry at you simply because you are a Christian; they are acting that way because they have issues with God, not you.

i do no longer think of the two atheists or Christians hate one yet another, Its stupid to hate somebody because of the fact of religion. i think its a extra annoyance then hate. fairly some human beings in basic terms won't be able to settle for yet another perspective on issues.
