The Bible has some references to parties. Jesus' first miracle was at a wedding feast when he turned water into wine. Several of the festivals held by the Israelites were sort of parties.

Ecclesiastes 2:24 says: "With a man there is nothing better [than] that he should eat and indeed drink and cause his soul to see good because of his hard work. This too I have seen, even I, that this is from the hand of the [true] God."

Having said that, anything that become the focus of your life, detracting from service to God needs to be carefully watched.

There is also the counsel at 1 Corinthians 15:33 which says: "Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits." Be aware of the kind of people that will attend the parties and social events you go to. Are they the kind of people who will encourage you to remain faithful to God, or will they incite you to doing things you know he disapproves of?

Ultimately you have to make your own choice. 'Everything in moderation', right?

Galatians 5: 16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.

Its fine, according to the Bible, to party and socialize and have fun, but there are certain types of partying with excessive drinking and sex and such that are not ok by the bibles standards. but go have fun, just don't do immoral things.

Whatsoever things are good, honest, just and of good report, think on these things.

Jesus performed the first recorded miracle at a wedding where he turned water into wine.

Jesus ate with the tax collectors and sinners and I believe he met their needs by socializing with them.

So as long as you are not doing something immoral or illegal (think in terms of if your mom were there would you do this) and that should give you a good measuring stick.

The Bible is concerned HOW you party, and WHO you party with.
How - Eph. 5:18; I Thess. 5:7-8
Who - I Cor. 5:9-13; Eph. 5:11 - 13

God Bless

actually the bible is not specifically saying that partying is bad. it totally depends on the party. if it's not wholesome at all then you can say that its not good.
