it will give your dog a longer healthy life without you having to worry about reproductive cancer. We lost our nearly 7 year old to breast cancer because she wasn't fixed until later in life. THe added years may not be 10 years for a larger breed but in the end fixing the dog is better and no need to buy panties for the dog and pads, or worry about that accidental breeding when your back is turned which can cost $1K or more even before they are 2 weeks old.

no. Not ten. If that was true, we would have dogs living to be 25 years old. It may increase the chances of a longer life.

Well that depends... having your dog fixed certainly could let him live ten more years... I mean, if he was 2 and un-neutered he could run away in search of a mate and get run over... other than an untimely death because of an action that could have been prevented by neutering, I don't think 10 years is a good estimate.

Well my dogs vet told me it eliminates his chance of getting prostate or testicular cancer.

And he won't be so aggressive.

So not for 10 years but definitely extend it's life and quality of life.

Personally, I have never heard of this. But, given a choice, I would give up sex if I was guaranteed ten more years.
