If you haven't been able to put weight on it, you need xrays.
Period
Go in to the ER and have it looked at by a professional.
You probably need a cast and crutches.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.
So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.
Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.
A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.
Heal your ankle fully & fast?

If you cannot put weight on it, get an x-ray. It may be broken.
You should get some crutches from the chemist and rest your leg. Elevate your foot to higher than your heart any time you are sitting or lying down.
Take some pain relief
acetaminophen or something similar

GO TO THE DOCTOR AND GET AN XRAY! YOU COULD HAVE DONE SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR ANKLE. ONCE YOU GET AN XRAY THE DOCTORS CAN TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO RESTORE IT TO IT FULL FUNTIONALBILITY. iF YOU WAIT AROUND AND IT IS BROKE OR SOMETHING, IT WILL BE TOO LATE TOO DO ANYTHING. iF SOMETHING POPPED, SOMETHING HAPPENED THAT NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION. IF IT IS SWOLLEN AND IT IS TURNING BLACK A BLUE, IT IS AN INDIDCATION THAT IT IS MORE THAN A SPAIN.
KEEP IT ICED AND ELEVATED. THE REAL PAIN WILL START WHEN YOU ARE TOTALLY OFF OF IT. TAKE A COUPLE OF TYELENOL EXTRA STRENGH.
iT IS BETTER TO ERR ON THE SIDE OF YOUR HEALTH.

Do x-ray to your ankle to see condition of the bones if there is no fracture then ankle support is necessary together with elevation of your foot to reduce swelling due to edema , if x-ray show fracture you really need orthopedic surgeon for management .

Go to the doctor. You really need to get it X-rayed. You may have torn a tendon or ligament or fractured it. Meanwhile Rest, elevate, ice & wrap it with ace bandage. There is really no other way to tell. Good luck!

Yep...either that or you broke a small bone in it. Sorry, but it's time for and X-ray. In the mean time, ice it for 20 minutes out of every hour and keep it elevated to reduce the swelling.

Sounds like a little sprain. You'll be fine.

Go to a doctor! You'll be glad you did in a few years.
