I have to agree with blonde mama. I'd bet that about half of those people were just out of condoms, or drunk and didn't think, or had forgotten to take their pills for three days or something like that.
Also, the birth control pills are rated according to their effectiveness in a laboratory environment, where everything is perfectly controlled and there is no margin of error.
Many things can factor into them failing, from taking antibiotics while on the pill, to missing a single pill, to not taking them at the same time everyday (like it's done int he lab testing), to failing to use a back-up method for at least the first month. All of those things are not to be blamed on the manufacturer, but on the user.

I agree. I was in a pregnancy chat room once with 32 girls and 28 of them swore they used protection. I was like come on. I think if they tell people oops the birth control failed and they get pregnant it make the blow easier. Fact is if you smoke, drink, do drugs birth control pills weaken, I wonder how many young girls actually read that on their pack of pills
well at least you admitted you're a ho and dontlie about it

I found them strange until I realized that it is only the products malfunction SOME of the time, and MOST of the time it's the people lying because they didn't want people to know they were reckless enough to be having unprotected sex. Think about it, it's easier for a 16 year old girl to tell her parents the condom broke then it is to tell them she let her boyfriend ejaculate in her with no protection.

First of all I have been taking my B/C for over a year regularly. I take it everyday when I wake up. I recently lost my virginity and thought nothing of it. NOW three months later I find myself tomorrow going to the DR. My birthcontrol was to regulate my periods until I of course had sex. NO one ever mentioned to me that B/C doesnt work and we just assumed that we were covered by the B/C. Condoms are no more or less effective than B/C but sometimes people get pregnant anyway. I think that pregnancy is a gift, especially when it was supposed to be protected.

Most contraceptives DO work properly, it is just some people are too stupid to USE them properly! Pills for instance...it says on the package that you need to take them at the same time every day. How many people actually DO that?

most of the time these birth control methods are not used correctly, thats why they get pregnant.. if you forget to take your pill then your probobly going to get pregnant and its not 99 percent if you mess it up

Yeah, but I doubt that all of these women who *CLAIM* they were being careful or using protection actually were. Oftentimes saying "it was not my fault... the condom broke" or whatever... is a way for people to deny responsibility for being careless.
