muslim women are told that they MUST do these things in order to go to heaven : are not allowed to have sex they are always covered up they cant wear what they want they cant go to school and get education they cant do what they want they are always controlled by the men, they cant even drink alcohol, they cant drive, and so on. and then when they get to heaven they get to be sex slaves for eternaty to terrorists that were promised infinite number of virgins

i wasnt talking about american muslim women i know those can do anything im talking about the women that live in countries like afganistan and iraq where men are dominent women cant do anything.

and how do you know??!! You may have come in contact with non practising mulisms who don't know anything about their religion. But what I have experienced while living between good muslisms are the following:
1- Muslim woman have sex only with their husbands. Not with hundred and thousand of men. They don't get into trouble like committing the abortion crime, suicide or catching a sexual disease like AIDS. so they are already in heaven compared to other women moerover they been promised heaven for keeping them self protected.
2- Muslim women wear whatever they wish in front of their husbands. They cover thereself in front of strangers so they don't get harrased, they block the way which leads to rape and sexual assualts. No man will dear to use her as an entertaiment and later throw her awaya as an empty pepsi can. She is respected by her husband, parents, brothers and strangers. So she is in heaven compared to others who have been treated just as an entertainer without respect for her personality.
3- Muslim women go to schools, mosques, religious classes, and they do score top marks. Prophet Mohammed's wife Aisha herself used to teach men the Quran and Hadith. It doesn't depent on wether she is a man or woman it only sees who has more knowledge.
4- I don't know in which world are you living. Muslim woman are not controlled by men, they go to work, they drive, teach, study for higher degree, there are plenty of muslim doctors, engineers, nurses, teachers, lectrures, some pilots, truck drivers..etc. Soem have to go out for need, and some go out for serving the society in their feild, some stay at home if their husband earns enough to make them happy. she looks after her children and bring them up to be good citizen. She is alreaddy in heaven when she has good husband to support her, and dosn't force her to do all his works, he is a man and he carries his duties, sometimes she only have to do the shoppings and all the rest will be done by the man. She is in heaven when she feels that she has children to look after her when she grows old, she has a husband who cares for her compared to those who their husbands go for another woman searching for a wife and mother for his chidlren, because his wife is always outside the house.
5- They don't drink. And do you think the muslim woman really eager to drink what will loose thier minds and bodies? Do you think they want to throw their health into disaster?
6- Both men and women are promised heaven, muslim men also have borders which they should not cross in order to go to heaven. It doesn't apply only on woman. And prophey Mohamme said the best of you is the kindest to your family.
And what do you know about Iraqi women, I know that they are the best mothers, scientists & lectrures.wooo. You should see how they discuss and debate. There are scientists who worked for Saddam Hussains biological programs.

First of all, religion is a choice. If a woman is Muslim, it's generally because she wants to be. Except for situations like Afghanistan under the Taliban and such, women who abide by the rules of Islam do so voluntarily. Secondly, don't push your values unto other people. That being said:

1) Islam prohibits premarital sex, as do Christianity and Judaism.

2) Muslim women can wear whatever they want. If they want to wear hijab (head cover) or wear an abaya (long dress), that's fine. But if they want to wear a simple blouse and jeans, that's fine too. As long as they're dressed modestly. Why do you assume that if a Muslim girl is covered up, it's because she was forced to? More than likely, it's by choice. Is it really so bad if a girl chooses NOT to imitate Britney Spears?

3) All over the Muslim world, girls go to school and get an education. In every Muslim country, you'll find female doctors, attorneys, professors, engineers, scientists, writers, etc. Again, aside from the Taliban and other extremist sects, Muslim women are highly educated.

4) "They can't do what they want" - not sure what you mean here. Muslim women can do whatever they want, as long as it's not criminal. They can even commit sins if they want - they'll just have to answer to God, is all.

5) Unfortunately, all religions and societies have chauvinistic chest-thumping men who dominate and control their wives. This condition is not limited to the Muslim world. Don't you think throughout eternity there have been men, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, etc, who've tried to control their wives?

6) Islam prohibits the consumption of alcohol, as do Christianity and Judaism. If a woman, Muslim or otherwise, chooses to consume liquor, that's up to her. She'll just have to answer to her God. Similarly, there are Christians, Jews and people of every faith who choose not to drink alcohol. This is not a bad thing. Being drunk off your *** is NOT a good thing.

7) Yes, unfortunately, in Saudi Arabia, woman aren't allowed to drive. But that's their rule. There is no Islamic rule against women driving cars. My mom drove me to karate lessons and to the library and all over when I was a kid. And she's a devout Muslim.

8) The "x-number of virgins" thing is just a euphamism, a descriptive phrase in the Quran. Read the Bible sometime, you'll find a lot of descriptive phrases. For example, Israel, i.e. the promised land is described as a land flowing with milk and honey. In any case, the souls of Muslim women are not doomed to be "sex slaves"

PLEASE do some honest research. It's okay to be ignorant if you don't have access to books or the internet or to decent American Muslims. However, you have access to all three. So you have no excuse.

I am a muslim women , I am a professor at one of US universities , I was born , raised and studies in middle east .I have 2 daughters and one son who are all medical doctors.

And may be you wonder if I tell you : Yes I wear Hijab , because I believe in it and I want full controll of my body and my spirit. I dont drink alcohol as my husband and my brothers, I dont eat every thing , it has to be Halal , because I care about my self not about the business owners who want me to be a buying machine of their products.

I do have sex but with the one that I have chosen and we both are commited to what we chose.
