i have had red palms for several years, I used to have normal white palms but then they changed to red. They itch occassionally, but there are no spots or anything. The Drs. are stumped and I've tried everything under the sun. I'm sick of it,anyone have the same problem and had it cured? im in basically good health, I eat right and exercise and am in pretty good shape, Also my palms and my arms up to my shoulders and most of my back and chest appear BLUE under an ultraviolet light. If that helps I would appreciate any INTELLIGENT advice.

ok i have been checked by the Dr. I do not have extra hemaglobin and my heart and blood pressure are fine, as are my lungs. I have been tested for all kinds of allergies but they are not the culprit from what the dr says and I have taken benedryl and no change.

I believe that red itchy palms is a symptom of the need for more magnesium.
Good sources of magnesium include whole grains, nuts, soybeans, avocados, beans, corn, lemons and dark green leafy vegetables, as magnesium forms part of the green pigment, chlorophyll. Meat is rich in magnesium but it also contains calcium, phosphate and protein which reduce the amount of available magnesium. Flour refining, rice polishing, sugar extraction from molasses and other methods of food processing remove almost all the magnesium from these foods. Modern food production has reduced the average magnesium intake from 400 mg per day to 300 mg per day over the last 70 years.

Drinking water is an important source of magnesium, especially in hard water areas, and is usually better absorbed than magnesium from food

These are the recommended daily requirements of magnesium:
Children
1-3 years old: 80 milligrams
4-8 years old: 130 milligrams
9-13 years old: 240 milligrams
14-18 years old (boys): 410 milligrams
14-18 years old (girls): 360 milligrams
Adult females: 310 milligrams
Pregnancy: 360-400 milligrams
Breastfeeding women: 320-360 milligrams
Adult males: 400 milligrams

Zinc is another important mineral for skin health.

Try an antihistamine like Benedryl, it sounds like a reaction to something. Possibly laundry soap, maybe fabric softener.

I have red palms too but they don't itch or cause any harm so I just leave them alone. Mine just tends to sweat a lot though.

You may need to see a dermatologist. He can tell you if the problem is skin-related, or if you need to see a specialist in internal medicine or a cardiologist.

Good luck!
