I didnt even read it, but so many other valid cancer questions have been asked not being featured. Cheers to Yahoo for not giving the normal person any exposure with questions on this disease. Its only important if its someone with a famous name.

Yeah... I looked at it, but didn't read it. I just thought.... come on... SHE came to this site and THAT is the question she wanted to ask. And since it's a famous person it's a featured question. Whatever. Just more of a reason for me to avoid it.

I think that it takes WAY TOO LONG for doctors to diagnose. My mother was just diagnosed with small cell cancer of the lungs. This was caught due to an x-ray of a shoulder, the tech saw the spot on her lung. It's very small but this type of cancer is very aggressive and spreads quickly. I think the time it takes for all of the tests and doctors it had to be over a month already. In the meantime the cancer has time to spread. At this point discussing it with a doctor who already has last month's results. Quicker labs and doctor's responses are aslo needed. Time is very critical. She had an x-ray of the shoulder then had to wait for her doctor to set up the x-ray of the lung. Then another x-ray of the lung. Then a CAT scan. Then a PET scan. Then a broncoscope. All waiting in between for doctors and test results.

Since cancer is such a deadly disease, perhaps Yahoo decided that questions regarding it should not be answered by amateurs. There are a lot of "quack remedies" for cancer that don't work, and could even make matters worse. It's best for cancer patients or those who suspect they might have it, to check with their doctors instead of posing questions here. I know most people on here are well-intentioned and really want to help, but some things are best left to experts, and cancer is one of them. I doubt if famous names have anything to do with it..... Really!

What are you saying? Yahoo does give exposure to "normal" people. I'm a little confused about your comment.

Seems like you are making a statement and not asking a question.

I thought her entry was more of a sermon than a question. An ad for a good cause, but still an ad. There are a lot of worthy causes, but let's not have this Yahoo! site get filled up with them.
