It talked about seven scenerios in which life could become extinct on Earth.
Number 5 was the Super-Volcano, Yellowstone is one those that could change the landscape of the country and bring on a new ice age.
Number 4 the asteroid. The ironic thing with asteroids is they are death dealers (death of the the dinosaurs) and life givers (the death of the dinosaurs allowed us to evolve)
Number 3 is Nuclear War, still a threat. Just because the cold war is over, doesn't mean the US and Russia still have thousands of nukes pointed at each other.
Number 2 is plague, bird flu, some super virus. Humans can now make viruses far more deadly than anything nature could cook up.
Number 1 is global warming. All the scientists in the world believes this is the greatest threat to our survival. Notice how the top three where manmade events. It seems that the biggest threat to our own survival is ourselves. Even though we may be intelligent, our instincts are getting in the way.

My point of this question was to show that no one is going to save us from our mistakes. We crave for that parent to take care of us. If we destroy ourselves it's because we did it, not God or the devil's work. If all life on the Earth is wiped out, the Earth will still be here. It will heal itself and life may evolve again. But they won't be human.

This also makes life so much more fragile than ever. We are renting the Earth. She can evict us anytime she wants!

I stunk? We are our own worst enemy. No, it's not Satan. It's humans. Consider the atom bomb. Which is basicly taking a piece of Sun and replicating it on Earth. An amazing amount of power. These man-made threats are proof of our evolution. Every animal has a basic survival instinct. So do we, we sometimes have the ability to supress these emotions with reason and logic. It seems there are some who do not surpress these base emotions and give in to their "instincts"

Exactly Duckphup. I don't know what is more scary, the end of the world or a theocratic society which is what we are slowing turning into.
