Well when I was 18 I already had taken about 10 different medications for depression and anxiety. Not all at the same time mind you, but still.
As I grew up, I was always on something new or improved for my depression and my self-harming disorders. Here are just some of the medications I have been on before I was 30 years of age. Then you can decide if you are on too many.
JUST PSYCH MEDS ALONE:
Valuim - 3 years
Pamelor - 2 years
Stalazine - 2 years
Senequan - 2 years
Lithium - 1 year
Thorazine - 9 months
Trazadone - 3 months
Serazone - 3 months
Depakote - 5 years
Busbar - 2 years
Haldol - 1 and 1/2 years
MEDICATIONS I AM CURRENTLY TAKING:
Prozac - 15 years
Topamax - 6 years
Seroquel - 6 years
Clonopin - 8 years
Plavix - 2 years
Zantac - 3 years
Zelnorm - 2 years
So you tell me if you think you are taking too many medications for the age of 18. I think anyone at the age of 15 - 21 that takes alot of medications should seek immediate attention with a case manager and a pschiatrist. Something is definetly wrong and must be addressed NOW.
Also, if you are taking a contraceptive medication, make sure it goes along with the psych meds you take as well. Don't just guess at the medications you take. Always use the knowledge of a doctor or a nurse when taking medications.

Personally I think you are OK, as far as what you're taking. If you are really that worried about it, here is a couple of suggestions. Instead of taking Cryselle try switching to a diaframe or getting a shot. Also see if your doctor will take you off nasacort and claninex and put you on a stronger medication so you would only take 1 allergy pill.

Lexapro addresses a couple of problems. Some use it for Anxiety and others use it for anti-depression. (upper)
Xanax is a "downer" so there could be a conflict between the Lexapro and the Xanax. Xanax is VERY addictive.
You need to discuss the possible conflict of your medicines with your doctor. Whether or not you are taking too much.....well....18 is a very young age for you to be needing all of those medicines you take. Also discuss, with your doctor, the fact that you are taking "over the counter" medicines along with your prescriptions. Some of those can be VERY conflicting. Pops

Keep up the birth control if you're active, or use it to regulateyour cycle. Anxiety meds are commonly overprescribed as are allergy pills. Talk to your doctor about the Xanax. Vitamins, taken as directed, won't hurt you. If you are worried, ask your doctor, and don't be afraid to get a second opinion. good luck!

I wouldn't worry about the BCP's, Vitamins's or allergy meds, but aren't you a little young to be having that much anxiety?

DO EXERCISES TO HELP WITH THE ANXIETY, STRESS CAUSES THIS, AND STOP THE MEDS AFTER A MONTH OF WALKING AND TRY PALATES EXERCISE BY WINSOR PALATES, HELPS YOUR HEALTH. CLARINEX IS OK BY THERE IS A NATURAL HERB FOR THIS BY SIMALISIAN COMPANY ,BUY AT WALMART BY THE HERBS AND VITAMINS. MANAGE STRESS, BY GIVING YOURSELF RELAXING TIME, DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF.

every medication you take goes through your liver and puts strain on it. also there are side effects for every med. i can't tell you what to do but xanax is bad on your liver. and i would only take one allergey med. lexapro is mostly for depression. the more meds you take the more side effects and the more the liver suffers

none of those are hurting you, they're all pretty benign medications. especially keep taking your lexapro, you're worrying about nothing ;) don't drive on the same street as me if you're taking xanax though.
