I don't like to mix alcoholic beverages, but I do like White Russians (2 oz Vodka, 1 oz Kahluah, Ice if you want, as much milk or cream as you like).

VELVET HAMMER
Good for the nerves!

1 capful white Crème de Cacao
1 capful Triple Sec
whole milk
1/2 glassful of crushed or cracked ice

Place ice in glass, add Crème de Cacao & Triple Sec. Finish filling glass with milk. Stir, & serve.

Variation 1: Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add 2-oz. of cream, 1/2-oz. white creme de cacao, & 1/2-oz. triple sec. Shake & strain into chilled cocktail glass.
Variation 2: 1 shot each of white crème de cacao, triple sec, & brandy. Blend with 2 parts of vanilla ice cream.

NOTE: 1 shot equals 1-oz.

Description: It is said, “the real fun of the Velvet Hammer is that it tastes like a rich shake going down, but catches up to you very quickly. Very few people can handle more than a couple of 12-oz. glasses before showing the affects.”

SPICY HOT BUTTERED RUM & APPLE CIDER
This will warm you up on a cold night. It also makes the house small wonderful! The use of the rum is optional...if you do not drink alcoholic beverages, just omit it & add 1 to 1 1/2 c. more apple cider.

4” stick cinnamon (break into pieces)
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 tsp. whole cloves
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
7 c. apple cider
1 to 1 1/2 c. rum (amber colored Bacardi works well)
1 c. butter

Tie up spices in a 4” to 6” square of double thickness cheesecloth (100% cotton). In a crockpot or slow cooker, combine all ingredients except butter. Cover & cook on low setting for 7 to 8 hours, or on high setting for 3 to 4 hours. Then remove & discard spice bag. Ladle hot punch into cups & float about 1/2 tsp. butter atop each serving. Makes ten 6-oz. servings.

EASY NON-VIRGIN EGGNOGG
To every quart of store-bought eggnog add 1/2 to 3/4 c. dark rum, bourbon or brandy. Mix well & refrigerate until ready to serve.

KENTUCKY MOONSHINE (This is an honest to goodness old Kentucky Moonshine recipe. I just threw it in for laughs.)

20 gal. mineral water
15 lbs. sugar
1/2 gal. dried cracked corn or dried whole corn (like chicken feed)
1 can blue ribbon malt syrup (This gives it a smooth flavor)

1. STIR OFTEN & KEEP THE MIXTURE IN A WARM PLACE & IT WILL SOON START TO WORK.

2. JUST BEFORE IT STOPS WORKING (WHEN IT GETS A LACY BUBBLE ON TOP) PUT IT IN THE"CAN" TO COOK.

3. WHEN THIS STARTS TO BOIL IT COMES OUT THE END OF THE COIL. When it starts to boil it turns into steam & is routed thru a pipe into the Thumpkeg & then into the coil. When the steam hits the Thumpkeg & goes into the coil the steam returns to liquid form & comes out the coil as very strong moonshine. The Coil in moonshiner terms from those cuzzins of ours was called a Worm.

4. PUT THE JUG UNDER THE CONDENSER SPOUT & COLLECT THE RUN.

5. (HAVE A LOOKOUT DOWN THE ROAD AT ALL TIMES!) REVENUERS ARE TRICKY, NEVER LET YOUR CHILDREN KNOW WHERE SAFEGUARD THE CONDENSING COIL; BE SURE THE LOCAL MAGISTRATE IS YOUR REGULAR PATRON.

6. CUT THE FIRST GALLON WITH WATER AS IT RUNS ABOUT 120 PROOF.

7. ADD BURNT SUGAR & WATER HERE IF YOU NEED THE COLOR.

8. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE IT HAS A GOOD TASTE, GIVE IT TO YOUR FRIEND; IF HE SURVIVES- YOU ARE IN BUSINESS (GUARANTEED 9 FIGHTS TO A PINT!).

9. THIS RECIPE FROM A TRIED & TRUE MOONSHINER.
