Oral is by mouth and as with any medication, they can have side effects. Even Tylenol has possible side effects so there is always some nursing considerations.

Some medications are taken with food, or milk. Some medications must be taken on an empty stomach. Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist to make sure you are following the directions correctly

Nursing considerations will involve the mode of deliverance, the frequency, the necessity of an empty stomach or with foods. After administration, patient must be monitored for all signs and symptoms of allergy or sensitivity. Control of the symptoms should me charted, and tolerance to the medication...such as did it cause nausea, stomach discomfort, etc.
