First. Yes it is not just GOOD it is simply the greatest.!!
Second. Because the field is so wide you can virtually find anything that interests you and you can expand upon that field and have fun fun fun - and get paid to do it - it don't get any better than that!

it is good if you enjoy doing the work of electrical engineers
no career is good if you hate work each day
electrical engineering, like most of the engineering fields has some positive aspects like good pay, many different kinds of jobs, opportunities to move to management or other changes, etc
but in the end, the issue is, can you enjoy it (not every part of everyday, all jobs have stuff to hate, thats why they pay you, but most of the time can you enjoy most of it)

Depending where is your country of origin. Developed country, i will advise go for power ELECTRICAL Engineering. Undevelop country, go for electronic electrical engineering.
Reason is straighforward. Only local citizen resides in their own country can deal with power electrical engineering and you are secure, but there is no guideline for electronic electrical engineering. If you go for electronic electrical engineering in a developed country, you need to fight in term of wages and knowledge with the developing country, as the ppl frm developing country may migrate to your developed country to look for better offer..
Well.. in general electrical engineering is not a good career to go unless you like it. Because you need to study harder compare to Civil and Mechanical and furthermore the % of wages in a project is the lowest. Well, at least there is one good point... you are going to die in the most gentle way and die completely with one pcs of body if you have any accident during your service. Unlike Mechanical and Civil... any accident, you will lose your hand, head, leg... etc... the worst case i everseen is no hand and no leg.. left body and head. But the person is not die yet... :)
