I put my son down to sleep at 9pm and let him cry himself to sleep. Around midnight, he wakes up and put him in my bed to nurse and falls asleep with us in our bed. But he wakes up occasionally. I'm thinking he is a light sleeper considering I am as well.

Put a rocking chair in his room and go in there to nurse him at night and then return him to his bed after his 9PM nursing. I would think if he is eating baby food or cereal by now he should have enough on his tummy to make it through the night. Perhaps he is getting up out of habit and knows you will come to him. You might try letting him cry at midnight when he wakes up and if he only wimpers for a few minutes and goes back to sleep you will know he is not waking up because he is hungry. It is a HUGE mistake to let him get used to sleeping in your bed. If you do it now plan on doing it for the next 5-6 years.

Good luck!

1. Set a schedule and keep to it.
2. At 10 months only one nap is needed per day for about 45-60 min.
3.Don't take him out of bed when he cries, let him cry. I know it sounds cruel. And trust me it is very hard to hear your baby crying and do nothing, but teaching him to sleep on his own is very important.
It should only take 3-4 nights of the crying before he calms down and learns to sleep on his own. It is important that you don't go in and talk to him while he is learning to sleep on his own. And good luck!

maybe try keeping him up later at night or letting him have less naps during the day . Dont jump at his first cry at night cause if you do that he wont have a chance to try to go back to sleep on his own . I hate to say it but some have a hard time getting into a good sleep routine my boy didnt sleep through the night until he was one but my little girl has for 70% of her 8 months . if you want to contact me out of yahoo answers go here

Hey
Please feel fortunate no colic or "others"- Try thinking less of a schedule/times- do what is right for both of you and remember there are friends/relatives that can/will help.
