I agree with Jodi.

While it is rare to be sued for small amounts, I have heard of people being sued for credit debts that were less than $100. While that seems like a small amount, by the time court fees and the Plaintiff's lawyer fees are added on, it ends up to be quite a bit more. (Plaintiff's lawyers don't care if the amount is small, if they win, they get paid no matter if the debt is $50 or $5,000.)

It just depends on who it's with and how sue happy they are.

I was sued by a credit card company and they won they will take you to court.

Depends on how much you owe them and what company it is. Some do nothing just screw your credit and some are real jerks and sue for very little. (Sears in general)
