My doctor diagnosed me with falling arches and prescribed me special insoles to put in my shoes. However, the insoles hurt worse than being without them.
Recently I started a new job, standing 8 hrs a day. I can't even stand up anymore. I get home and I'm falling down all over, that's how bad the foot pain is.
It's basically swelling in both feet at about 2 hrs., then my feet start to ache at 3 hrs. on the job, then my feet start burning (I don't mean a slight burn, I mean "someone has a flame up to my feet" burn) this happens at about 5 hrs into the day. By the time the day is done, I'm basically falling over. I also have bad aches in my back.
Is it just the falling archs problems, or maybe something more medical?

May I add that I already have regular insoles in my shoes, soak my feet in warm water with epsom salt, and have gotten tons of advice.... even some that sound a little strange like using Aspercream on them.

CROCS! I have the same problem in my left foot. I could barely walk. I discovered a brand of shoe called Crocs. I can't believe how comfortable my foot is now! Put your arch supports in the shoes when you try them on, to get the correct size and try them on in the afternoon after your feet have already swelled up, as they will have increased at least a half size.
Depending on where you purchase them, they can cost as little as $35 and up. I have had mine for 6 months and they are as comfortable now, as the day I bought them. I don't wear any other brand of shoe. I CAN"T. I can't walk in anything else. They come in many styles.
These sites shows the styles available. I buy mine locally but you can order them here if you can't find them in a local store.
You may find that you don't need the arch supports but then again, you may still need them. Try the shoes both ways. They have enough give that the supports shouldn't hurt your feet.

You say you are so confused, your not confused, you are trying to convince yourself that you can not pay attention to what you know, you want someone to say it's all good & fine, follow your heart. Your 14, you are a baby & you have a crush. Most women that marry a crush end up in divorce, they are saying two people that say that love one another are 50% likely to divorce. Now take those that marry in the truth, it's 99% that will stay married, the 1% that get a divorce, one leaves the truth. Now take your brother or your younger siblings, lets say they come to you with your problem, what advice would you give to those you love. Would you advise them to displease Jehovah & go against the council that is written in the Bible, where the divorce or worse, leaving the truth is 90%. How would you advise the ones that you claim to love. Keep praying, keep reading the Young People Ask, keep resisting Satan & you will turn out happy & your life will be blessed. Give into temptation, the poem that Vot gave is 90% your future, that or more. I'm not saying that it can't work, I'm saying you won't be happy, your life will be sad, I did it twice, both of the women I married our now baptized, my first wife has is inactive, but still believes it's the truth, & my second wife had 4 strokes in 1998, she's a little on the nutty side & half the time does not know what she is doing, I hold her no malice, just can't live with her, no one in the family can. I can tell you for sure, I was miserable for 35 years of my 60 years of life. So even if you show your spouse the truth & they except it, both of my wife's did before we were married, their is still sad emotional turmoil. One more thought, if your boyfriend does not like your dad & won't pay him any honer as your dad, could you & would you be a happy person, not if you love your dad, it just don't work no matter how much you want it too. Now my answer is a little long, as is your question, but you already knew the answer when you ask the question didn't you? Let Jehovah pick your spouse when it is time, he will be someone that you will be with forever, & you will be a happy women forever with him.

I'm not a doctor, but I have had similar problems, being on my feet all day, too. Your back has a lot to do with the way you stand. Your shoes are also a problem. Make sure that you stand straight. I don't know what you do for a job, but it is important that you stand straight and wear good shoes. (shoesforcrews.com is a good start) Nobody realises sometimes that one part of your body that hurts could be caused by another part of your body in danger of becoming ill. (I know it sounds crazy) I would have your back checked out because maybe you have a pinched nerve somewhere in your hip or leg that would cause the burning sensation. Also, the insoles more than likely hurt because you're not used to them. Any part of your body that you change like that, will be discomforting because you're not used to it. Hope this helps you. Take care.

Flat feet can cause really bad problems. I would talk to your doctor again and tell him your situation. You should not have to stand up 8 hours a day, maybe you can get a stool or something to help. Also you may need time to adjust to your new job if you are not used to being on your feet all the time.

sounds like maybe the orthotics need some modification. if you're looking for an informative website with educational information and products over the counter i would suggest trying myfootshop.com. it is very imformative and i think you might benefit from it, sounds like you have significant foot pain, if the site does not help call and make appointment with a podiatrist to get control of the pain. try using the direct links below to the site, give it a try good luck!

it sounds like you could have heel spurs/plantar facitis you need to go to a podiastrist who can xray your feet. with all the foot problems you are having you are not walking correctly which is making your back hurt.

Face it, you need a job where your not on your feet so much.Get a written report from Dr. showing what your problem is and have him put down what you can do and how long. You may need this in the future.
