Sometimes, but it's actually harder than having someone else take the picture. I'm not in very many of my pictures at all! That's one reason why I don't use my photo for my avatar.

When I do take my own pic, I either try it in a mirror, with a lot of trial and error and many deleted pictures, hold it at arm's length for even worse pictures, or if I'm up to it, I'll set up a tripod and put the camera on self-timer, but there's still lots of trial and error.

The last time I got a decent picture of myself was when I was posing my family, then I jumped into the picture and asked someone else to push the shutter button. It was already set up on a tripod, so I still give myself credit for taking that picture.

I have a digital SLR and i have shot thousands of pictures, yet I've only shot a few of myself. I'm not ugly nor do i have a vanity problem, I just like to find other things that are interesting to me.
