Christinity - no. Gay people are sinners.
Islam - same deal.

Well, is any "word of god" actually correct by not preaching hate and discrimination against homosexuals?

http://flushaholybook.com is a place where all religions are treated equally - flushed down the loo.

Does the Bible need to be taken literally? Read on...

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice
to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that, as an
observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to
Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The
following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident, which was
posted on the Internet.

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I
have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge
with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual
lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly
states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from
you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them.

1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They
claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them, or just try to
ignore them?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in
Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price
for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in
her period of menstrual cleanliness - Lev.15:19-24. The problem is, how do I
tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of
mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you
clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2
clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him
myself, or should I just call the police?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I
don't agree. Can you settle this?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have
a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my
vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair
around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27.
In what way should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me
unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two
different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments
made
of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to
curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the
trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? -Lev.24:10-16.
Couldn't we just burn them to death, instead, at a private family affair
like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev.20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you
can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal,
unchanging and absolute.

Your devoted disciple and adoring fan,

Jack

Actually... Buddhism, Hinduism and Confusionism haven't taken a definitive stance one way or the other. I've heard that Buddhists are actually quite tolerant and accepting, at least the ones I've read about. There are several Christian sects that support, accept and even perform marriage ceremonies for homosexuals. Reform Judaism, the biggest denomination, is gay-friendly as is Reconstructionist Judaism. Wiccans are generally very open and accepting, Secular Humanism as well.

So you see, they're not ALL so bad...

:-)

Buddhism accepts people for who they are.

It's okay to be gay...that doesn't really make a difference as to whether or not you lead a good life. If you bring people happiness, you will be rewarded.

It's also okay to make mistakes. There are no sins in Buddhism. Yes, Buddhism teaches that the way to true happiness lies in getting rid of desire, but that doesn't make desire in itself bad. All people experience desire at some point or another...including the desire to reach enlightenment! No one is perfect, and that's just the way the world is.

There is also no "holy book" of Buddhism. Oh sure, there are books that are atributed to the Buddha, but they weren't actually written until several hundred years after his death, so we can't rely on the accuracy of them. Buddhism is a very open-minded religion that expects its followers to think logically and work out the answers themselves, instead of following a specific doctrine of faith.

If there is no accurate record of what the Buddha said, we don't know what his thoughts on homosexuality were. My guess is that it didn't bother him, provided it didn't bring about unhappiness for those involved (which can happen in heterosexual relationships as well). But I could be wrong!

Lots of Christians - no

Christianity - yes

See while Christianity does see a homosexual person as a sinner.

Christianity also sees EVERYONE as a sinner.

So you, because you are human, are a sinner and so is everyone else.

And sinners can go to heaven, I know because I'm a sinner.

But all you gotta do is ask the Lord for forgiveness and your forgiven.

And you would do this because: we're all sinners and we all need to ask for forgiveness!

So you can find a religion but finding people to except that religion, you must look around.

Unfortunately, there are alot of Christians who love to point the finger!

Interestingly enough, Islam doesn't exactly 'preach' hate towards homosexuality as the Qur'an gives no clear mention about sexual orientation. Islam basically focuses on sexual behaviors rather than the desire.

To put it simply, Muslims treat homosexual intercourse as just another case of fornication or adultery...

You are confused totally. Christians do not hate you at all! God hates your sin and my sin and everyone's sins. He taught us to obey Him and not be a part of homosexuality. So we Christians hate the sin but love you-the human! Every sin is equal and hated.Sin hurts the person that does the sin and it hurts God more. Please don't take it as being judged. Christians care and tell you about God's word because they don't want you to be left behind. As Christians we are supposed to talk to others and pray that they accept Jesus into their hearts as their Lord and Savior. When you accept Jesus then you can pray for the strength to stop the behavior and grow closer to God. Since Jesus was our role model we need to try to live as He did. Best wishes to you and your friends.

Look the Bible does not promote hate against homo's. God wants them to get saved and go to heaven. They must realize like everyone else that they have sin and have broken God's law. What they do is an abomination to God, but Christ died for ALL, whether homo or not. Repent from your evil deeds and trust in Christ.

Homosexuals are human beings with sick minds. Who else gives in to their carnal desires just because they want to or can? Animals.

Islam does not preach discrimination or hate against homosexuals. It teaches justice. If you choose filth and war against God, be ready to face the consequesnces.

Take a look at Unitarian Universalism ( http://uua.org ). I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Particularly check out the material about "Welcoming Congregations."

Well, Wicca doesn't say one way or another. We don't condemn anyone for being who they are, "if it harm none, do as ye will".
But we're not part of a major religion.
