Has anyone had dreadlocks and successfully removed them without shaving? Actually combed them out?

Sorry, but the only way to remove dreadlocks is by shaving them off...... maybe if you shave off one at a time and let your hair grow back. it might look a little better?

or just get a short haircut.
:D

It's possible.. its alot of hard damn work.. but it's possible.

There was an article in the magazine Vibe Vixen a few months back whre a lady had locks for 12 years and she had them removed.. They were wayyyy down her back, and when they finished with her she had a huge fluffy and pretty afro.. I may be able to find/scan the article. Send me a PM.

I've had a bit of experience with it myself.. i've had locks for 9 months, i didn't like the placement of a few of em because i started them myself.. I got the lock soaking wet, rubbed it with conditioner, then took a long thick straight pin and started unraveling from the tip. I took down about 6 of em, and seperated them into 12 new ones for a fuller look on the sides... It took forever to take down 6 locks.. imagine how long it would take to take down a whole head slowly.. Probably something you'd have to do in stages.

Holla back.. also visit the locks section of http://www.nappturality.com they have some discussions there you can search for.. A few members of that site have taken their locks down and given directions on it.
