If he's primarily your best friend's friend, she's got first shot on him. If she tries and fails, then you can give it a shot after you get her go-ahead. He may have a nice smile, but you can be damn sure he gives it to a lot of girls, and he's definitely not worth losing your best friend over. If things with him were meant to be, they'll happen, if not there are plenty of other guys out there who will have a nice smile too. Trust me, don't ever let anyone come between you and a friend, especially a best friend.

Well you want an honest opinion...there are a freaking lot of men in the world. I would skip this one.... woohoo he is a band... he has a nice smile....and he might be going somewheres... but he is your best friends friend and she probably digged him first.

Girl rule number one, dont mess with your bfs boys... including crushes. If you do one or both of you could get hurt and chances are this kid is probably not worth it.

If you honestly think he is worth possibly loosing your best friends friendship then go for it.

Other route.... you could talk to your bf and tell her the truth. If you arent going to forget about "tom" then I would go with this route and be honest. Open communication works best and is mature.

my advice for you is don't make it a contest, that's where friendships get ruined. if you like the guy, maybe attend more of his concerts, flash him an award winning smile, catch his hand for an instant while in passing, see if there is any return. you can't go forward until you know what his feelings are for you...so good luck, and be careful, and remember that boys should never break apart a friendship between girls.

Stay away from him. He is a player, knows all chicks are checking him out and probably get off coming between friends. What do you value most your friends or this guy who is probably gonna end up breaking your heart?

Your best friends? Keep it that way. I f something more comes of it , it will. Don't loose a good friendship over over mixed feelings, try to talk to him, but in a casual way. Good Luck!

If none of your friends are attempting to get to know him go for it. That way you can let the girls know if he is really all that cool. If your friends are really friends they would like to know either way. Or, go for his friend. Usually the one everyone wants is so full of themselves they are really no fun but their friends are a blast.
