I cannot believe how rude and ignorant some of the people who replied are. Didn't your parents tell you that if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say it?

The highest grade there is 5, which is the equivalent of an A. (the grading system is 2-5)

I would imagine that Russian Students, though not any smarter, try a hell of a lot harder than students in The USA. Most likely they are not spoiled rotten. Don't have a car. Don't wear expensive clothes. Have respect for their teachers, Des[erat;y wamt tp succeed. On and On. If they don't most likely they go to the salt mines for life.

A 5... I think the max you can get in Russia is 5. In Albania it is 10, in Bulgaria it is 6... Different school systems, different grades

I have worked with many many people that were educated in Russia.
They are all really good with basic concepts and therefore I think they try to get A's also.
Unless you are asking what the cyrilic "a" is, then I don't know.
