I remember several years ago they had no state taxes and wondered if it has changed. If so, what is the state tax percent?
Does Oregon have state income tax?
thanks

Oreon has no state sales tax, but they do have property tax (about 2% of assessed value of your home - thankfully homes are reasonablly priced) and an income tax (up to 9.5% as I recall of your adjusted gross income). The nasty part about the income tax is that you can't use ALL of your federal tax to reduce your gross income. It was limited to $300 of federal tax, but last year it went up - to about $4500 I think.

No Washington has no income tax but does have a Sales Tax (right around 8% - it varies by city/county). A lot of people near Portland find it best to work in Vancouver, but live in Oregon so they get the benefit of both exceptions.

And none of this is new. The only state I'm aware of that didn't have taxes was Alaska. Nevada is also extremely low taxed.

Yes, each state has their own individual sales tax. so even though you pay taxes in Oregon, California can still charge you with sales tax.
