I have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis. So, I am new to this. I was just wondering if someone could please tell me the reason to why you get this disease and if it is anything that a doctor could give you to cure it? Will medication help this disease or will it just be a waste of time trying to take medication for it? I have been in so much pain for the last few weeks behind this illness and I am currently going to the therapist to do some exercises on the foot that is messed up. I was just wondering if I could get some kind of advice on this sickness and if there is somethinf I can do or get to help my siguation?

osteoarthritis is the wear and tear arthritis (the cartilage on the ends of your bones is worn down), talk to your doctor about medication you can take...many have bad side effects.....strengthening the muscles around the joint will help.....check in to water therapy (where you do exercises in warm pool water), this can help with movement while decreasing weight-bearing. ......if the pain is really bad there is the option of joint replacement (which can be very painful, but usually gets better).....watch out for steroid shots (they help relieve the pain) but thin your bones....heat helps.......try this web site.... www.arthritis.org

good luck

Elizabeth Lipski's 'Digestive Wellness' has an excellent discussion of osteoarthritis and remedies.
Some people get good results (relief from pain) drinking monavie juice.

TRY THIS WEBSITE, WWW.EVITMINS.COM. TRY SOME RED YEAST RICE AND RICE YOU EAT AS WELL AS OATS IS GOOD FOR THIS CONDITION. RED YEAST RICE IS AND HERB THOUGH. IT CAN'T HURT TO TRY. ALSO SWIMMING IS GOOD FOR THIS CONDITION AS WELL AS WEIGHT EXERCISE. ALSO YOU CAN FIND INFORMATION ON THIS SITE UNDER HEALTH RESOURCES, HEALTY ENCYCLOPEDIA! HOPE THIS HELPS. ALSO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THINGS GOOD TO DO FOR IT. THERE IS NO CURE, BUT I DID HEAR RICE HELPS.
