I like coffee, and when it comes to instant (what I drink at work) I prefer non-dairy creamer to milk.
I have read recently that the palm oils that are used in creamer and many other foods are not at unhealthy as we are lead to believe. Advocates from countries that produce palm oil say that we have been mislead by those who have interests in production of other oils. Anyone have any insight into this?
Incidentally, I'm an American living in Japan. This tends to mean that even though my diet is not perfect and I eat meat and oily foods fairly often, my diet in general is far better than what most Americans eat on a daily basis.

I want to clarify my question a little. I know palm oils clog your arteries. Question is, are they really worse than the alternatives?

Depends on what you do with it. What you do with the oils in your palms is your business.
