We just got a new refrigerator, a Kitchenaid Superba with Aquasense Water Filtration System, and I think the water tastes really bad of plastic. The filter is new - reads 90% remaining on the indicator. My husband doesn't seem to notice it but I find it very obvious. Does anyone know why this may be? Will it possibly go away after a break-in period??? TIA for any thoughts.

We run 2 or 3 gallons thru a new filter on our Kenmore (feed it to the house plants) and then the taste gets right. It's never quite as good as the Brita, tho.
I like the ice makers - no messing with those tray thingies. Just push that little lever and voila! Ice all over the floor!

Same thing happened to me Cherie but it cleared up in about 2 months. It's basically the new plastic and water has to run over it for awhile to rid it of particles. Try filling up a couple jugs a day for awhile to speed up the process and since water costs money use the jugs to water your plants or cook with.

It just take time for the taste to go away. If it really bothers you then buy a new filter anyway.

It should go away. It always has a smell when you first get it. but you could just ignore it.
