Robinson Curriculum. It covers everything from K thru 12 and some college. Use Saxon math along with it. And buy the Henty novels either on CD or in print. They are great for a 5th grader.

It's hard to say without knowing your child's learning style (auditory, visual, kinesthetic) and your homeschool philosophy (unschool, classical, Charlotte Mason, etc.)

There are so many good curricula available. I would recommend you check out Cathy Duffy's, "100 Top Picks for Homeschooling". In it, she reviews many of the most popular homeschool curriculua. She also has a website with 100's more reviews. Her reviews can be trusted, because she's not trying to sell you anything.

What's your fifth grader like?

Most people I know don't use a single curriculum. They'll use one thing for math because they feel that's best for their child, they'll use something else for language arts, they'll pick a variety of things for science...

If you want something that is all laid out for you, consider Sonlight http://www.sonlight.com .

Send your kid to SCHOOL, where he belongs! Schools know what to do. And they have many, many years of experience that confirms their expertise. Why do you want to home school anyway? That's a much better question to ask yourself. Think about it.
