Knowing that at the end of the day when I put my head on my pillow that I did everything that I could that day to make a difference in somebody else's life, that I conducted my business in a solemn and steadfast way. Also enjoying time on a lake, ocean, basically anywhere near flowing water I find quite tranquil and meaningfull relationships such as childhood friends and family.

Music
The way the sky turns orange when it rains
Seeing a huge moon at perigee
Seeing butterflies all over my backyard

My BIG sister's funny questions (What's a sub-poe-ee-nuh?)
Seeing my mom so happy about her new writing jobs
Hearing my dad's butt jokes he's been telling since I was five
Lotsa chocolate!! heehee
My gramma's mac n cheese

The way my cat Bazzle's tail puffs up when he's hyper
The way my cat Leo always sits on my homework whenever I'm trying to get it done (^_^)

Spending time with loved ones, my pets, driving with the sunroof open in Fall, the beach at night, work (I echo the "most days" comment as I am also a teacher), getting an email from my sister serving in Iraq, IM'ing with my Mom who retired to Northern Maine, having a beer with my brother, nuzzling with my fiancee, petting my cats, feeling a sense of accomplishment, and feeling like I have gone out of my way to do something good at least once a day.

Knowing that I live in a country which, while it has many faults, DOES guarantee me the freedom to read this posting, reply to it, and engage in intelligent conversation. I have the freedom to agree or disagree.
The simple answer, though, is seeing others happy, too.

I WOULD be happy if that group of jackhole kids would stop their screaming for 5 minutes. I've already called the police, but nothing helps. I swear, I understand why people go postal. How can a person keep their sanity if all they hear is 10 teenagers screaming at the top of their lungs for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours

My husband and grand-kids.. Today it made me happy that over 2,000 people answered Cindy C. question. There was not a 2 point or idk answer among them. So there is hope yet for this site. My husband and I just got back from a nice walk and talk. That always makes me happy.
