I am the owner of a very loving and sweet 4 year old female pitbull. I adopted her from the shelter when she was a year old. I have grand mal seizures (epilepsy) and I had a bad seizure about two weeks ago in my bedroom. I fell on the floor and as I was convulsing I lost control of my bladder and unfortunately urinated on the new carpet. This is what happens with my type of epilepsy. I did shampoo it right away and sprayed it as I keep my house very clean and this is very embarrassing. My problem is the dog now keeps going to that exact spot and peeing there. How can I stop her? I keep shampooing it but she still keeps going there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Shampooing the carpet will only eliminate the surface area. Go to Petsmart and buy Nature's Miracle, follow the directions. You may have to repeat the application, but this will deodorize and break down the soiled area.

There are enzymes you can buy (one is called Natures Miracle but there are other brands too). You have to saturate the carpet and let it just sit there, but it should help. While it dries, keep the dog away from it. It could take a couple of days though...you have to saturate the carpet clear through the padding. Also, there is a spray called 'Indoor NO!' that is a deterrent (again, there are other brands of this as well). After you've used the enzymes, spray that in the area about twice a week for a while to make it undesirable to her.

I think that something else is going on here, I think your dog was upset by the seizure and that's why she keeps going there.
Dogs understand more than you think they can. You know dogs
are being trained to warn a person that they are fixing to have a seizure. So she probably knows about it before you do and it's
upsetting her

Well, dogs tend to claim thier territory. Your only option might be to just buy a new carpet. Sometimes with my dog (he used to have problem with pooping in the shower) i just put his face near it and say "bad dog!" after doing that a couple of times, she will stop

My boyfriend's dad used to tell us that when a dog did peed on the carpet you take them to that spot, rub their nose in it and then say no bad dog. Or isolate the area until it gets cleaned.

Try white vinegar on the area. There may be a dominance battle going on. In other words- a pissing contest. Vinegar is close enough to your peeing on her pee....I hope that you win.
