Seafood is a potentially hazardous food. Store fish separately from cooked and ready-to-eat foods to prevent cross-contamination. Thaw frozen fish at refrigerator temperatures of 41 degrees or lower, not out on the counter. I would cook within 24 hours. When you cook it, be sure that the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees for 15 seconds.

Usually keeps only 2 days once it's thawed & raw. You really have to cook it right away. If you wait until the day you plan to cook it to thaw it, you can thaw more quickly by placing it (still wrapped) in a bowl in the sink and running a stream of cold water into the bowl.

You can keep tawed fish in the fridge as long as you like. It all depends how much you love the scent after a couple of days! LOL
However no problems in the freezer. It keeps well and taste good after you bake it in the oven with garlic butter and lemon juice.

If it was fresh 1 to 2 days. if it already smells fishy, throw it out. Fish should not have a smell if it is fresh. when it begins to smell, it is OK to eat, but does not taste very good (as long as it falls in that 1 to 2 day range).

1 to 2 days - preferrable 1! If two days, smell it first to make sure it doesn't smell funny.
