Why should you get cheap insurance because you supposedly live in a 'socially deprived area'? Insurance for teenagers, especially males, is always expensive. Some insurance companies won't quote for 17 and 18 year old males at all. I don't think the Clio is the cheapest car to insure anyway. 'Continental' cars are always in higher groups. Get a Fiesta 1100, and get a requote, but it won't be that much different.

I got mine from www.egg.com. You insurance will be high, but you should be able to get it cheaper than that! Try searching on the Internet and shop around with them all. You can get a site that searches all of them for you! Also it does depend on your area in some ways, insurers see how many claims they've had on certain areas which can bring the price up! I live on a main road and cars get damaged at night so my road is higher than others, because more claims are put through! It helps as well if you have a garage or off-road parking and some sort of alarm fitted! Good luck

I have always found A QUOTE insurance very good. You can do certain things like fit a good alarm, fit a tracker. This will bring your premium down, but it is so high because of your age. Another way to lower your cost would be to take an advanced driving test.Try registering the car at a relatives home in a better area.

Call around. And do not ask for 'liability' or 'full' coverage, because insurance agents will not offer the lowest limits unless you ask and will throw in Medical payments, Rental reimbursement, Uninsured Motorist(UMBI) and a bunch of other crap that will raise your premium. For example when you call an isurance company and live in CA, ask for 15/30 BI, 10K PD, ask to waive UMBI, which you will have to sign a waiver to do so, and if you want to cover your car, ask for the highest deductibles offered for Comprehensive and Collision which is usually $1000. I dont know what state you live in, but find out what your state's lowest limits allowed limits are. Progressive and Mercury tend to be some of the more affordable of the large insurance companys around for younger drivers or people w/accidents or tickets.

It is not the area you live in rather than your age, 17 to 24 year old's have this problem everywhere, it's worse if you are a male because that age group have the most accidents, therefor are a high risk group. So unless you can have your someone else to put you on their insurance, you will have this problem.
Good luck

Your age is the problem. Call all insurance companies and only go with the minimum coverage that insures OTHERS if you should be at fault in an accident. Downside to this is you will not get anything for your car.
It's tough starting out....good luck.

I think the quote more reflects your age - not the area.
I was nearly £1500 four years ago for THIRD PARTY on a Fiesta 1.1 - and was a bit over 18....
Am now 4 years N/C. £380 fully comp, protected no claims in a luxury saloon V6 2.5l - the cost does go down fairly rapidly!
Try getting quotes online - they are always cheaper.

It won't just be the area, I would imagine your age would be a problem. Try Provident , they do pretty cheap insurance.
