My cat needs to see a vet because of a car accident. I posted a question earlier, and I forgive everyone who was nasty because they don't understand that I stay at home with 3 children, two have disabilities and we are receiving assistance because we are poor, even though my husband has a full-time job. So where can I get assistance with vet bills? My last resort is to surrender him to the SPCA, but we love this cat. BTW, my kids have Medicaid, so they go to the hospital when they are ill, and we are there a lot because of problems. Don't judge.

Obviously what some of these people don't see is that you are trying to help your cat. Don't pay attention to those people!!! Sometimes the only options are not what you want, believe me I know, but they are best for the cat! I agree with most of these answers, don't give up and try every option. Don't let baby suffer though!! I am from Utah and, there is a place in Kanab, Utah I know rescues animals but, I don't know if they can help you cause I don't know where you are. I do know they rescue animals all over the world. They are called Best Friends Animal Sancuary, you can actually find them on the Internet. God Bless your baby and your family!!!!!

You can try to contact the SPCA or local Humane Society and ask for help in paying the bills. Some have vets that they work with that might be able to help. Some vets have what is called Care Credit, so if you qualify you can make payments. Try calling around and explaining your problem. There may be cheaper options for fixing your cat. Ask the vet what the cheapest option would be that would make the cat OK. It might not be the BEST, but it might still be a good option to give the cat a normal life. There might be a vet willing to help or will take payments. Most vets don't unfortunately because so many people don't pay their bills, even when they promise to do so. Can you borrow money from a relative or friend who knows and trusts you and then you can pay them back? This is better than expecting a vet who doesn't know you to lend you the money. Good luck.

Try a fund raiser, make signs and such, even try selling things you can make cheeply like little ribbon pins. You can even talk to the spca to see if they will give you a 'deal' on vetranairy procedures because often times the vets will preform very low cost surgerys there. I would definately take pictures of the cat and try fund raisers. and i wish you the best of luck and hope everything turns out alright.

If you are on assistance, check with your worker, if you have one. Sometimes they have access to organizations that could help defer the cost for your cat.
Check on-line for Maddie's Fund and Paws, they are organizations that maybe able to provide some assistance considering your situation.

Call your local humane society. In my town, the humane society has emergency vouchers for these kinds of situations. They do hope you eventually pay them back, but it's not required. They are more concerned with getting the animals proper treatment.
good luck with your kittie

call all the vets in your area. we have one that has a program that helps defer the cost of taking care of your pet when you cannot afford to. it is supported by donations. maybe you can find one that has a similar program.

You should not have a pet if you cannot handle things that can come up because of it - accidents, injuries, illnesses. It's not enough just to "want" an animal, you need to be responsible for everything regarding it. Kind of like children.

if you are THAT poor and have THAT much hardship in your life than you really truly don't have no business or time to own a pet!!! sorry just speaking the truth lady!!!! Please give your cat away to a loving caring home who has the time and money for her and her needs!!! don't make your cat suffer just because you can't afford to take care of his medical payments!!
P.S. I tried very hard not to judge you because I know that you have it very rough!!! I know that you can't help it either!!! I'm sorry!!
