You are not too young to be a Wiccan Seeker, but you are probably too young to be a Wiccan dedicant. Don't be sad. My daughter is 13, and I am Pagan, and although she has, of course, been exposed to our rituals and traditions since birth, I am only now preparing to begin her training later this year. Part of that training will be exploring many many religious paths so that she can make an informed choice when she is older. 13 is the perfect time to begin training, but don't expect to begin your degrees, or join a coven until you are at least 16, preferably 18. Especially if it's not in your family.
I suggest you continue what you're doing. Honor the deities, you don't have to be official to do that. Keep learning. Learn about all manner of religion. And when you are 18, make a firm choice and begin your initiation to the group of your choice. You'll probably fly through it. Remember though- It is important for a child to respect the religion of her parents until she no longer lives with them. No Wiccan teacher will touch you until you are 18 - Unless you have written permission from your parent, that we can pull out and wave at the judge in case they decide to sue us.

You have already received some great answers on here. I agree that Wiccan covens do not initiate seekers who are under 18 years old. (Please grab a dictionary and look up what the word "initiation" so you know exactly what it means. Admission into a group.) But in my area, some of the covens will allow seekers your age to take their open seeker classes provided that a parent always accompanies the student to classes. If the parent can't attend for some reason, then they cannot just drop the young person off at class. Some of the material that the teacher feels that may be questionable to the parent are discussed before the classes are started and an open, honest understanding between the parent and the teacher are a must. This has worked out very well in our area. It allows the seeker to learn and meet others in our area with the same beliefs. We have quite a few families who are raising their children in neo-pagan religions, so there are neo-pagans of all ages. There is much you can learn between now and the time you can be initiated. You can start to develop friendships with others in your pagan community. Just because you can't yet be initiated into a coven does not mean that you cannot try to master the outer court information you learn. There is well enough to keep you quite busy and you will be growing in your spirituality---isn't that the main purpose?
I don't see you as being too young to know what you feel is right. I grew up polytheistic when that wasn't a cool thing to do. But before 13 I knew what I felt was right for me and now in my 40's I still believe basically the same principles. Traditional Wicca is a beautiful path, and if that is what you are called to, you will get there. Plus, by starting so young, you will have a very strong foundation built by the time you can decide to join a coven. A house is only as strong as the foundation it is built upon. Take the time to make yours strong.
If you are in SW Ohio, I may know where some classes are that would accept you and a parent.
Best wishes in your journey.

Are you too young to be christian? The answer would be no. You are never too young to practice any religion. I practice only with family or alone. My children are 4, 7, and 10 and they practice with me. If you were my child they only thing I would ask is you let me know what you are doing. There are many people that will take advantage of you. Curious how long have you read tarot and practiced Wicca?
You are not too young to join a coven as long as your parents give consent. Some may ask they be present during meetings and ritual.
Also keep in mind reading alot of books or having a big library does not make you Wicca. You must practice and live the religion everyday. Not just when it suits you. Understand I don't know you and I don't know if that is the case.
I say as long as it does not conflict with your parents wishes do as you please. If they will not let you practice you need to wait until you are 18.

First off, don't listen to the ignorant bigots on here. You aren't going to hell for being a Wiccan. We don't believe in the Devil or Hell, that's just to keep the Christians in fear of thinking for themselves.
but you already know that....
I left that insanity (I was a "born again christian"), and thank the Goddess I did. I've never been happier coming back home to beliefs I'd had since childhood. I got sick of others telling me that everything I believed was wrong and that I was going to hell. I was miserable, till I came home to the Goddess.
Reason your getting a lot of crap from older Wiccans is the fact that when you are young (13 and older), you go through a lot of changes. One month your going to do (fill in the blank) for the rest of your life, next month it's something entirely different. If you are serious about being Wiccan, go down to Barnes and Noble (or some other bookstore), go to the New Age section and STUDY! Look at the links here and STUDY! This is a serious faith and not anything like you see on TV or some bad movies. If you already know this, take your time, STUDY and when you are 18, make the decision THEN as far as weather or not to join a coven.
Blessed Be

There is no age limit on being Wicca. Some Wicca parents raise their children that way just as Christian parents raise their children in their religion. Just make sure and do some good research. Wiccans don't need to be in covens - in some cases it can be a good learning place but isn't necessary. There are also a wide range of practices and structures. Don't go by what you get here - there's some good answers but also some misleading ones. It looks like you have done a lot of background research. Being a solitary is just fine - it took me one experience with a coven and a rather egotistical priestess to decide I was much better off by myself. You aren't a false believer if you believe it - doesn't matter what others say whether they are Christian, Wicca or whatever. Just examine your own feelings and go from there and don't let people tell you you are wrong about them.

I don't think there are age limits on belief and religion. I mean there are certainly 13 year old Christians or Jewish people or from any faith, right? I think the response you get is more because of the bias against Wicca or Paganism in general maybe coupled with the idea that because you are young you will probably grow out of your beliefs. This is sad because if you were Christian or some majority faith they probably would not think that way. I know a couple of Pagans and one Wiccan and they don't even believe in Satan but a lot of people don't understand what Wicca is. BTW, I also know a few atheists who are not depressed but are happy, nice people!
Peace and Blessed Be!

You are a seriously seeking young woman and deserve some serious (and correct) answers to your questions.
We are all called to Goddess in HER own time...not our own.
Just because we want something does not mean it is right for us.
Most covens, circles, or groups do not accept 13 year olds (without their parent's permission) because even though you are growing and maturing...you have not yet reached a level of adult maturity to be able to comprehend, use, or grow in The Craft.
Patience is something you must learn, and use for the rest of your life.
Reading books does not make a Wiccan. There are many books on the market out there that are misleading and are sold purely as a "fad" item. The Craft deals with learning about the self, self growth and transformations in yourself as you grow ....not love spells or hexes or being different. In order to learn and grow in The Craft, you must have the maturity to differentiate between the good and the bad, and that can only come with time, experience and maturity. There is no fast track. Many of the teens on Witchvox are children of Wiccans, and even though they practice by themselves instead of with their families, they have knowledgable guidance. This is of utmost importance.
I'm sure this is not what you wanted to hear...but it is honest and from my heart. In time, if this is the right path for you, Goddess will provide a teacher to aid you in your quest. So, until then, love your parents and honor their wisdom...see the truth in what you read, and be patient. This is a time in your life to enjoy your youth! Find happiness in all that Goddess has provided us...the wind, the rain, the trees and animals....and know that you are a very special person...and that you will grow into your woman self faster than you can imagine!

relies upon. i imagine an excellent type of toddlers who at present develop into conscious of as Wiccan will purely develop out of it. an excellent type of them do not extremely understand Wicca, this is only slightly like all kids flow through, hunting for something that makes you unique/major, or attempting to get interest. some even with the undeniable fact that are serious, they get it, and an excellent type of those will study and meet up with childrens who were actual raised in Wiccan or a minimum of Pagan households (it really is growing extra problem-free). the position they'll take it i do not understand, yet I do imagine they'll study from extra constructive elements and with slightly of success proceed to debunk an excellent type of the crap that has been placed out for exciting & earnings over the most suitable two decades, and bust the misconceptions of the formerly generations of Wiccans who believed contained in the "previous faith." So I do imagine they'll help keep Wicca on a good song. those i extremely worry about are the undesirable authors and ones who've this complete "Wicca could be something you want it to be" attitude, who take the Wiccan label like confetti and throw it at something they locate remotely occultish and new-agey. they're truly going to maintain pushing undesirable data, and keep stretching Wicca a lot to be all-encompassing, that finally no individual will understand what it really is, it really is surely not a faith to any extent further it will purely become yet another standard, imprecise time period like "spirituality" or "new age."

ok, i am probably going to say some things that are already been said. You are not worshiping or dealing with satan. 13 is commonly to young to be accepted in a coven, however i see nothing wrong with solitary study.
I find the ignorant people on here humorous. you can't be a wiccan because its wrong or youre young but its ok to be a christian....that hypocritical and against the basis beliefs of almost any religion. Stay strong. youre doing whats right for you and that is what matters. the goddess shows herself to you in her time and if this is that time then good for you

No, sweety, you are never too young to be Wiccan. As long as you know what you're doing. Stay strong and don't take the fools on here so seriously. Most of them are just close minded bigots that are mad because you're not part of their religion. Don't give up. Don't ever let anyone tell you what to do with your belief in Wicca. I have known that I am Pagan since I was a small child.
Love, a Satanic Atheist.
