The image you reference maybe extreme, in that it invokes painful sentiments of past racism, but I think your choice is quite apropos. Any group whose name literally translates into “The Race” is inviting malice from all those who find bigotry revolting. Its one thing to promote equitable treatment for a particular race, but it is another thing to have as your soul reason for existence the flaunting of racial identity. As respondents above me have said, if white groups started labeling themselves with the same term, the entire nation would be outraged.
The double standard is appalling. Immigrant groups, of which I am also from an immigrant family, will only win respect from the indigenous population when they first express gratitude at all the fruits that this country has given them. Moreover, they will only be accepted as part of America, and can truly reap the benefits of the American dream when they learn to integrate into American society by learning its language and accepting its mores. Anything short of this warrant the backlash they will receive. You are a newcomer to this land. We should not have to earn your acceptance. You instead, should yearn for ours. It is that fundamental humility that will be the key to your success.

Yah! Many here have said it as well as I could have. La Raza is a highly racist (large) group in the USA currently.
They and another group called MECHA believe that if one is not of hispanic origin, then they/La Raza don't want any association with that non hispanic indiviual or group. I believe it is MECHA who's charter has the statement: For the Race (hispanics) everything, for all others ...nothing!
I guess that kind of says it all.
Just so you all know out there. Our American Federal Gov. give millions of $$$$ to MECHA and La Raza each year in Federal grants. This money is funded and funneled through most college or university minority organizations grants. That's right! Our tax dollars at work. For people that think we (those of us who are non hispanic) should have nothing
This, as well as illegal immigration must be stopped!
Illegals go home (back to where thou hast come from!) Legal immigration is the only way our country will have any kind of future. To allow illegals amnesty will spell the end of the USA as we all have come to know it. To continue to fund La Raza and MECHA is insane!

speaking as a child of legal mexican immigrant parents I dont think that La Raza is a hate group or even really a group. Its what certain american people of mexican ancestry refer to themselves as. Also, I think that a major reason for so much ethnic pride in people of Mexican ancestry is that they feel that they are not treated as Americans and therefore try to come together with others that have similar experiences. I don't want to speak for everyone but I would like to be able to be American while at the same time be able to speak Spanish and retain the culture that I grew up with.

Well the translation is "The Race" so we got a bit of hispanofascism going on. Appears they think they're the new Master Race, lol.
But seriously they and others of their ilk intend on taking over the border states for their new country of Aztlan, they also publish such gibberish that they're "indigenous to the continent" and therefore the "have the right" to go anywhere they please. (of course this means US/Welfare).
They pulled down the US Flag in Mayfield, CA and trampled on it. Guess they're not our "Poor and Homeless yearning to be free", but vicious and dangerous yearning to take what we built and worked for.

La Raza means "the race", I think even the most bone headed liberal could determine that it is a racist organization on the level of the Klan.
I do not know why some members of the media treat them any other way.

La Raza wants to create the fourth Reich. One problem though is that they are Mexican. Not such a good track record in the war department

La Raza is a mexican hate group. The name "La Raza" means "The Race". Imagine if a white empowerment group went around calling themselves The Race nowadays. Yet mexicans get away with it.......
And yes I am aware that I haven't capitalized ''mexican'' at all.
